Teddy's POV

"They're late," Jorge states a matter of factly as he checks his pocket watch.

"Give em a minute," I reply quietly from the back seat, leaning towards him and Brenda to get a better view out the front window in the still, parked car.

The bitter afternoon breeze tumbles in through the open car, blowing my hair into my face.

Brenda smirks as we hear a train horn blare in the distance. She picks up her pistol, cocking it to get ready for the moments to come. I, in fact have absolutely no idea of what is to come. Needless to say I really wasn't paying much attention when we were plotting for this day.
I still can't grip on the fact it's been nearly six months since that whole catastrophe happened. A lot has changed since then, and I've only grown to miss Minho's presence even more.
Things at the camp settlement we're set up at have been going smoothly. I've befriended Harriet and became closer with Brenda. My Glader friends and I have grown even closer to each other than we were in the past. Newt and I especially, if that's even possible. We've become nearly inseparable from each other. Maybe it's because we're scared of loosing each other. I don't blame us. After loosing practically all our friends, it's absolutely horrifying thinking that anything could happen to either of us, at anytime.

I'm pulled out of my thoughts when Jorge and Brenda start closing up the hatches on the windows.

"Listen, Ted," Brenda begins. "I know your a bit of a daydreamer—"

"I am not!" I interrupt while I scoff nervously. It's become no secret to anyone that I'm always in my head, getting ideas, memories, daydreaming. In the past few months I've began to write it down in a notebook Vince gave me. Told me it's not used, and that it used belonged to Mary. My heart aches at her memory, even though I don't know anything about her.

She smiles slightly. "Whatever— just stay focused, please."

I try to hide my smile. "Noted."

Before I know it Jorge is stepping on the gas and we start speeding down the sandy, dirt ground. I hang on for dear life and moments later we're driving beside a train.
A smile forms across my face knowing that Minho is somewhere in that train. And Aris and Sonya. I can't contain my excitement knowing that we'll be reunited by tonight.

"Teddy!"

I look at the walkie-talkie gripped in my hand. Tommy.

"We're coming up behind! Tell her to keep em busy!"

"You hear that Brenda!?" I yell over the roaring engine.

"Loud and clear!" She replies before standing on the seat and putting her head and shoulders out the roof. I watch her position her pistol.

She fires a shot before hurrying back inside the moving vehicle. Jorge starts laughing, and I can't help but laugh too.

Our laughs and smiles don't last long when shots start being fired at our car. "Agh! Shit!" Jorge exclaims.

Jorge steers the car all over the place, trying to avoid bullets. I crouch down in the back seat and away from the front open window. Jorge fires his gun a few times as he continues to drive.

"Hey! Teddy!?"

I look down at the small device in my hand.
