Chapter 15

Noah's P.O.V
My eyes widened when I met the face of a man who looked like me. He stared back at me before he put a finger over his mouth before he disappeared. 'Ah-" I went to call out to them but they already vanished. "What?" Neo said as he turned to look at me quickly. 

"Oh, it was nothing... Sorry, have a good night. I mean I know you would because of Mira." I told him as I chuckled while he looked back at me blushing as he rushed away. 'Was that just my imagination?' I thought to myself.

After I told Neo goodnight, I turned and walked up the stairs as I tried to process what happened. 'That wasn't just my imagination...right? I clearly saw someone who looks exactly like me... But is that even possible?' I asked myself as I slowly walked up the stairs anxiously. 

'It was also somewhat transparent and Neo didn't react to it... Could it be a ghost? Or a side effect of my injury?' I thought as I held my head feeling a bit dizzy before I remember the conversation with Neo and what he asked me. "Why did you bother saving me? It's unlike you." Neo asked me. 

'The conversation with Neo didn't exactly go as planned either? But he has the right to be skeptical of me. To everyone in this timeline, I've probably changed a lot in the mere days since the outbreak.' I thought as I looked at the hand with the bandage. 

'I never intended to hide my knowledge of the future. I thought when it came to it, I could simply tell the truth. But it appears that subject might be taboo.' I thought as I looked down as I made it to the top of the stairs.

'Does it have to do with all the changes I've made so far in this timeline? Neo wasn't with us the first two years of the original timeline. Ian was still alive when I died. Iva wasn't supposed to be alive after we left the mansion. We weren't supposed to meet Mana and Mira this early. The future I once knew is already falling apart... So what's keeping me from telling Neo the truth? Could it be connected to the power that brought me back in time?' I thought as I headed to my room. 

As I was going to walk to the door I was Abel and Li standing in front of it with Abel sitting on the ground with his head on his knees. "Abel?" I called out to him as I saw him raised his head. He looked at me before he stood up and walked to me. "Sir." Li said as she looked at me. 

"What's going on here?" I asked her as I saw her moved her eyes to the side a bit before she looked back at me. "Young Master Abel wanted to see you but you were gone. He insisted on waiting until you came back." Li explained as Abel stopped in front of me rubbing his eyes. "Papa..." Abel said to me as I frown slightly.

"Why didn't you take him back to bed? It's not good to sleep out in the open like that-" I said to her as I rubbed his head before I stopped my movement realizing what I was doing. "My apologies, sir. Young Master Abel has been worried about you ever since we got back from the mall. I didn't let him see you since your condition was still bad. I thought it would be better to wait until after your health improved." Li told me as she replied to my question. 

'Worried about me?' I thought as I gripped my hand tightly while I looked to side. 'Looking at Abel like this, I almost forgot how unpleasant he turned out to be in the future. When did he change? Had he always been like that? I thought he cared for me, unlike his mother. But I guess I was a fool all along.' I thought as I looked at Abel who cried silently in front of me before it changed to a memory of Parish and Abel in the future. 

"Take him back to Parish." I told Li as I avoided eye contact. "Understood, sir." Li said before Abel clutched onto the sleeve of my shirt. "Wait, papa! How are you feeling?" He asked me as I glanced down at him briefly.

"... I'm fine." I told him before I looked away from him. It was silent for a moment before Abel spoke again. "... You have been avoiding me. Did I do something wrong? I'm sorry if I did. If I did, please tell me so I can fix it... I don't like it when Papa ignores me... " Abel said as I looked down at him before looking at Li.
