Childhood Rivals (Short story)

(For the sake of this story say Damian came to Gotham at the age 9)

Two 10 year olds could be seen in the Wayne Manor's garden fencing with each other.

"Point for me!" The bluenette cheerfully said as she hit the raven haired boy.

"No fair!" The boy said.

Suddenly the girl trips and falls as the boy hits her with the fencing sword.

"Ha! 2 points for me!" The boys says as the girl pouts.

"Marinette! It's time to go." A woman's voice calls.

"Bye Damian!" Marinette waves.

"Bye Marinette."

The two were best friends. They knew everything about each other. LIKE EVERYTHING. Though they had a sort of rivalry. Everything they did was a competition. The friendship turned into two people with a crush on the other though they were too oblivious to know.

Not all good things last though...

"Marinette sweetheart? We have some news..." Sabine said to her daughter.

"Maman what is it?" Marinette asks.

"Me and your father have decided to move to Paris. We leave in 3 days."

"W-what? I don't want to leave Gotham Maman! What about the Waynes!?! What about Damian?" Marinette cries.

"You will see them again! I'm sure of it." Sabine smiles sadly.

"When can I say good bye?" Marinette asks, tears streaking her face.

"Tomorrow. Me and your father will pack your things. Our stuff is already packed."

"O-okay." The heart broken 13 year old says.

...

That next day was full of tears.

Marinette had gone over to the Wayne Manor. When Alfred had opened the door she was in tears.

"Miss Marinette what seems to be the matter?"

"I'm leaving! It's not fair! I want to stay! Gotham is my home not Paris." Marinette sobs as she hugs Alfred.

"What?" Damian asks from the doorway, you could almost see tears in his eyes.

Marinette runs over to Damian and gives him a tight hug and sobs.

"I don't wanna leave."

"I don't want you to leave either." Damian cries.

"Please say you will remember me. I don't want to lose you."

"I promise I won't."

Soon after that the Waynes said a tearful goodbye to Marinette and her family. They even went to see the Dupain-Cheng family off at the airport. Before either families left they gave the to 13 year olds time to say goodbye to each other.
