// Uff. This chapter was hard to translate, but I hope you can understand it all and enjoy it as well...
Loki wanted to look in the newspaper that Sylvie had brought from a small shop. But when Loki wanted to pick them up, he realized that they were heavy, so he opened them on the table and in the middle lay a dagger with a decorated handle in a leather case.
He was looking at a dagger in surprise when Sylvie spoke to him, "I don't have much experience with handing gifts, but maybe you like it..."
Loki turned to Sylvie, "where did you get it?"
Sylvie placing the pastry on a plate and took breakfast to the table, she just loved these moments of normalcy. She didn't look at Loki and came back for a drink. Loki watched her, waiting for an answer, "well, do you think that the nice old lady couldn't have it in her little shop?"
"I'd be surprised..."
Sylvie brought them a drink and sat down at the table, "so let's say she either had it there... or maybe not... who knows, maybe I've had it with me for a long time... or I was secretly outside and I stole it at night just for you, "she shrugged and took a fresh croissant.
Loki looked at her suspiciously, "I'd notice you left the house..."
"Maybe you were very, very tired, and you slept like a baby," she winked at him.
Loki narrowed his eyes, "Sylvie..."
"Ehm?" She looked innocent.
Loki sighed and gave up his interrogation, "um... just... thank you..." he began to examine the dagger with interest.
"It's my pleasure...."
"But even so... if you're alone somewhere, take care of yourself ...okay?" he said like just by the way.
Sylvie smiled when he tried to make it sound completely neutral and not like he worried about her, "don't worry, I haven't forgotten how to take care of myself yet..." she said seriously.
After a moment of silence. "Mmm. That dagger looks really good, the details and the workmanship... I like it. Really." He hoped her gift meant what he thought.
"And I have a small speech about this gift, not the same as you for the pendant, but..."
Loki looked at her, "yes?"
"Well, it's just that..." she was suddenly a little nervous, "I'm giving you a dagger that's real... you know it's not just... imaginary... and I'll be glad if you pay attention to it..." she said a little timidly. She wasn't sure if her words gave the meaning she wanted.
Loki was interested by the word imaginary dagger from their train debate, "and we're talking about... a dagger, right?"
"Sure..." Sylvie took a bite of croissant, just so she couldn't talk properly.
Loki had to smile at her, "well, I promise you I'll guard it like a treasure..." he said, staring at her slightly startled expression, which she tried to hide. She seemed so cute.
###
It was supposed to be the last day in their temporary home, they planned to find another shelter. But neither really wanted to leave. It was almost unbelievable that after so many years they found happiness in very ordinary moments alongside someone who was absolutely extraordinary to them.
However, their plans were thwarted by a large storm, which began in the morning and ran across the area for the rest of the day. They did not move out of the house and neither of them thought about leaving soon, they enjoyed being suddenly completely cut off. Maybe it was just an ideal excuse that they both gladly welcomed.
