Loki lay on a wide stone wall, which he found among the dilapidated buildings. He could have tried to get to other house where he could spend the night, but he thought it wouldn't make a difference in a place like that anyway. This place brought no pleasure and was confirmed to him at all times. What surprised him, for example, just a moment ago, when he looked at the night sky without the stars nor the moon. It was just black, as if the sky didn't even exist in this place.

As he lay, he had one hand behind his head and the other held the dagger over him. Loki looking at the dagger thoughtfully, moving it here and there, watching at least a bit of light reflect in it. He saw his own reflection in some moments, the dagger be so polished that it was almost like a mirror.

He was about to put it down when he was intrigued by something in the reflection. He sat down and looked over the reflection in the dagger at the symbols on the silver bracelet he had involuntarily worn on his hand. He hadn't recognized the symbols before, he knew they were runes or something like that, but he didn't know exactly what they meant. Until now, when he saw them in the reflection that he realized what the signs meant.

He jumped off the wall and felt the pain in his leg again, but his sudden enlightenment was a great motivation for him. He came to the nearest place where there was at least a little light, and on the dirt road he began to gradually paint the signs. When he saw them side by side, it was only confirmed to him, "they are the elements!" Loki called excitedly, looking again at the symbols on the bracelet, trying not to touch it so as not to start doing unpleasantly tricks again. Everything began to make sense to him.

The symbol for fire and air was marked correctly, but the symbol for water and earth was wrong. He immediately remembered the protection of the bracelet - like it could burn someone, which meant a symbol of fire, or it could deprive a person of breath, which meant air. It was as if he could hear his mother's words in his head when she taught him magic. Magic was also quite related to nature, the elements and the general balance, "sure, it is an imbalance magic! Why didn't I think of that sooner?" He asked himself.

At that moment, he forgot where he was and wanted to solve this riddle to the end, "fine, so the water and the earth are not in balance," he thought aloud, which helped him focus on it even better. Not only was the bracelet defending itself against opening, it was also a clue to the whole charm. Just to be sure, he took some clay from the ground and poured it on the bracelet, which immediately moved to his other hand, it was clear to him that it would not be so easy, the bracelet touched the water several times without any efect.

He wandered around, trying to come up with or try something that could take over, time passed, and only one think was in his head, a goal that could change everything. When he had one crazy idea, he almost laughed, "either it's brilliant or it's absolutely crazy!" He thought and went to find a few things that might be useful to him, which also took him quite a long time to find what he wanted in this damn place.

Eventually Loki came to a bridge under which the river was almost invisible, but at least audible. He looked down from the bridge and felt as if he were looking into nothingness, wondering what might be in the water, and preferred to drive away the thought again, "I must have gone mad! It may not work at all! "He said seriously," well, but what if it will works?" He asked himself, beginning to get quite nervous when he realized what he was up to. Eventually he made up his mind and began to prepare, after a while he was standing on the edge of the bridge, holding a large stone in his hand, tied with a rope to his leg, he need to get under water but also to the bottom. He wasn't sure how deep the river was.

He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, "okay... okay... this is crazy and maybe it's suicide, uf... damn I hope it works out!" Loki called to the silence before taking another breath, holding it and jumping into the river. Due to the weight of the large stone, however, the current did not pull him away, on the contrary, it pulled him to the bottom. He opened his eyes and released the stone, feeling it pull deeper and deeper. He looked at the hand he could barely see in the water, reached for the bracelet that moved to the other hand and when he did it again, began to warm up... but the water around stopped the process. The symbol for fire and water both lit up on the bracelet. He was suprise and almost released the remnants of oxygen he was still holding.

The stone hit the bottom, and Loki hoped it would really work. He reached for the bracelet again and it moved to his neck, at that moment he exhaled the oxygen he was holding back, and since he couldn't breathe and there was no air around him, the silver circle on his neck had nothing to take. Loki pulling to the bottom of the river over the rope and touched the sand set on the bottom, which was to symbolize the earth, last element. He threw sand on the bracelet. At that moment the last two symbols lit up.

He knew he could no longer reach the surface, the absence of oxygen began to deprive him of consciousness, he closed his eyes and reached for the last time after fastening on the bracelet. He knew it was either freedom or the last thing he had done in his life. Sylvie's face came to his mind in this moment.

Sylvie was sitting on the bed and suddenly noticed the strange light from the bracelet on her hand. She had an uncomfortable feeling all along that she couldn't explain. She looked at her hand in confusion and noticed the symbols shining on the bracelet. She hesitated for a moment, but reached for the fastening, the bracelet opened and fell into bed. Sylvie jumped out of bed surprisingly and looked at the bracelet as an apparition. She felt her strength return, it was so strange and unexpected.

Loki took a breath and opened his eyes, sitting in the middle of the bridge, where he had moved out of the water by his magic. He looked at his hand, then at the other, and found that the bracelet was gone, it was on the river bottom. He exhaled in disbelief, he survived and figured out how to break the spell.

He got up and felt that pleasant feeling, it wasn't just that he had his magic abilities back, he felt good about himself, that he was taking a risk and it came out, "it works!" He laughed happily and at that moment appeared back in New York, where he moved because he experienced a moment of real happiness, which he found thanks to himself. The moment that got him out of the darkness. When he looked around, he still couldn't believe it, it was a clear day and he felt a fresh breeze, even though it might seem like a trifle, he valued them all the more, "yes, damn, yes! It worked!"
