"No, I've never met him, not even once," Sean cried more...

"How come?" Yibo got more curious, patting Sean's back.

"He died from a car accident months before my grannies returned here. Dad's remains were incinerated and were taken back home. And that concludes the story of how they found out about me.

When I was in my freshman year, Grandpa died of cancer and later on my grandma followed him. The management of their business empire fall in the hands of his brother, Xiao Feng. He's kind to me and insisted to be called Uncle Feng instead of grandpa. He told me to study about business so that one day I'd be able to take over the family business. I told him I have no interest in it because I wanted to pursue Fine Arts and then specialize in Digital Media once I enter college. Though Uncle Feng wasn't able to persuade me, nothing changed how he treated me. My life was running smooth, not until his family arrived and began living in the mansion.

My great grandma's health began to worsen and Uncle Feng began to get stressed up. His vicious wife, Aunt Sanya, was always angry at me. His son was a gambler and I suspect was also a drug addict. Her daughter wasn't less a problem child too. Often comes home with a guy and sleep together. I couldn't count on my fingers the number of men she slept with. The mansion that was once a reflective memoir of an elite and respected family had gradually turned into a chaotic arena.

Uncle Feng's son wanted so badly to take over with the business empire. He suddenly stopped his vices and urged his father to let him work in the company. I almost got convinced that he has changed himself into a better version. Little did we know that it was just a facade to slowly climb up the business ladder.

When my great grandma became terribly ill, she handed me my Mom's diary and confided Aunt Sanya  and his son's plot to overthrow me as the sole heir of Xiao Empire. That same day, she died. I planned to keep silent until granny finally laid to her resting place. After granny was burried, Uncle Feng went on a three-day business conference so I decided to hold it all up. But then Uncle Feng met a car accident on the way to the venue and went comatose. The butler suddenly went missing and the family lawyer was found dead on his hotel room when he went abroad for a gathering.

Since Uncle Feng was no longer capable to handle the business, the board wanted the sole heir to take over. I was left with no choice so I attended the Board's emergency conference. That was supposed to be the day that I'm going to expose the dirty plot of  Uncle Feng's wife and his son.

The board acknowledged me as the successor and before the conference adjourned, Uncle Feng's son and some lawyers suddenly entered and announced that I am not a true Xiao and so I am not entitled to whatever assets the Xiao's have. His lawyers were able to hand the board a copy of my DNA test that states I'm not related with the Xiaos. I don't know how they were able turn the tables that day. The Board believed everything he spewed with the so-called black and white evidences as a back up.

So to shorten the story, Uncle Feng's son got to sit as the Chairman of the board and kick me out of their family.
Again, I was back to my previous status, yet this time it's worst. I was left with nothing... not even a family.
The only consolation I got is that they never exerted any effort to file a case against me.

Lucky enough, Mr. Nie, one of Uncle Feng's confidant, firmly believes that I am a true heir of Xiaos. For him, something was definitely wrong. He helped me in secret and advised me to lay low and to not cross with Uncle Feng's family. Deducing every horrible things that happened in the Xiao household, Mr. Nie was a hundred percent sure something was amiss after hearing the secret that granny told me before she died. He made a promise to get to the bottom of everything in oblivious manner and that all I have to do is to study well and prepare in secret.
