Chapter 18

After two weeks of hustle and bustle at work, Sean and some of the department heads were called for an early morning meeting. He wasn't notified about it. The PR Department head simply sent someone to fetch him. When he entered at the meeting room, he was astounded to see several department heads. He bowed in respect to everyone present at the meeting and then was instructed to sit near his department boss.

"Sir, I'm just a mere graphic artist, why am I needed in this meeting?" Sean murmured to his boss.

"You'll find out as the meeting progresses," his boss replied in a low voice.

"Next month will be the 10th Anniversary of WE. So, in line with this, I would like to delegate the tasks needed to be done in preparation for the event," said the head of Planning Department. He continued... "Slides, please..."

On the big screen on the wall flashed the meeting agenda, the plans, and other itineraries related to the upcoming event and as well as the committees assigned for each task and the list of entertainment personalities under contract with WE that are prospected as event hosts.

"May I call on Mr. Sean from PR Department..."

Sean raised his hand and answered, "Yes, Sir?"

"Maybe you are wondering why you are called here..." said the Planning Head.

Sean looked at him with bemused smile. Indeed, what does he have to do in such gathering of department heads knowing his department boss was already there?

"I've heard you have excellent skills in graphic designing, primarily designs for marketing. Since our upcoming company anniversary will be loaded with activities that requires promotion on different online platforms, the CEO have specifically mentioned the PR department to work closely on the event's promotional campaign. But before that, he wants you to work with the Planning officers and come up with ideas. Mr. Ruan have chosen you to work with the planning team. After two days, present what you have agreed to come up with."

Sean eyed Mr. Ruan with baffled look after hearing the task entrusted to him and his senior nodded in agreement. Sean stood up and answered:

"I feel honored and flustered at the same time to be entrusted with such important task. I just hope with the help of my colleagues from different departments we'd be able to come up with awesome ideas. Thanks for trusting me..." and Sean made a 90-degree bow in front of everyone.

Everything that's happening inside the meeting room is being witnessed by Wang Yibo. Being the CEO, he has the authority to choose someone he thinks would do a certain task pretty well. He knows Sean is a high-end graphic designer. He spends an immense deal of strategic thinking to come up with a good graphic design that could efficiently communicate a marketing message visually. He can make graphic designing done in a few hours that others take days. He trusts Sean's ability to come up with a compelling graphic design that their company can use all through out the marketing period of their company anniversary.

When he saw the meeting adjourned, he instructed Shan Shan to call Mr. Xiao to come over his office to discuss about his task for the upcoming event. Another perks of being the CEO is that Yibo can summon Sean anytime he wants using work-related matters as an alibi.(😏😉)

After receiving the call from the CEO's secretary, Sean can't help shaking his head with bemused smile and thought, "What could be his antics this time?''

He remembered the days just after they started dating. There was a time when the CEO summoned the PR chief and asked him to bring with him the new graphic artist. After being "formally" introduced, Sean was asked to stay as the CEO wants to discuss "something." Another instance was when he was requested by the CEO to check the graphics on a certain presentation. But when he stepped on his office, he was shocked to see a graphic content on his MacBook... a porn one. And just imagine what happened next. 😂
Sean can't help but smile while shaking his head.
