Dinner time at Wang Mansion...
"How's work, Wangjie?'' Naying asked.
"Fine Mom..." Yibo's short reply.
"How about Sean?" Haikuan asked that made Yibo suddenly look at him.
Naying eyed Yibo with amusement while slicing her steak. Though his son seems to have no intention of spilling about his personal affairs, she still looks forward to the day that his son would talk about it.
"Ge, why are you suddenly asking about him?"
"Oh, nothing. You've been together for more than a month yet we never heard you talking about him," said the older son.
"Yeah, your brother is right, Wangjie."
"He's fine. He's working seriously."
"Working seriously? As in?"
"Mm."
"I pity him... his boss is a slave driver," said Haikuan jokingly.
"I'm not. He is just a workaholic... He's too focused on his work."
"Just like you..." her mom said teasingly.
"Wangjie, when are you gonna introduce Sean formally... as your boyfriend?" asked Haikuan.
"Yeah. I think it's high time, Wangjie."
"Uhm, don't worry. We'll get to that one of these days. Sean and I have already talked about it. It's just that we are busy at the moment because of the company's upcoming anniversary."
"Just inform us ahead of time once you have decided so that we can prepare," said Naying.
"Mom, there's no need for such formalities. Sean is a simple person."
"Wangjie, even if he's a simpleton, he also deserves special treatment," Haikuan answered, creating silent happiness inside the younger one's heart.
'Your brother is right. I wonder how Sean was able to tolerate your cold demeanor..." Naying fakely retorted, obviously showing how she liked Sean so much.
"Mom, Wangjie's coldness is just a facade... don't get fooled easily," Haikuan teased, giving Yibo a mischievous side smile.
"No matter how cold-looking he is, I bet he melts in front of Sean," Naying said, cracking a small laugh while giving a side glance towards the silent Yibo in which the latter silently ignored nonchalantly, yet his ears turned all-red.
"How were your employees by the way?" the older bro asked Yibo.
"I guess they're fine. Why the sudden question about my employees?" Yibo asked in return.
"Nothing... I just wonder if their eyes are still okay..." Haikuan answered with a smirk.
Yibo stopped eating, confused by what his older brother said. But then Naying gave him a teasing smile. It was only then that he get what his Kuange meant.
"Oh... I get it. It's not like I can just take their eyes off just because they're looking at Sean. I'm not that petty. And no matter how much they stare at him, he'll surely just ignore them. One more thing, I trust him. He will reject them at once, whoever will display their courage to openly show their admiration... or whatever that is deeper than that," Yibo said defensively, making his mom and Kuange smile.
