The Family Business

Chapter 19

Gerard's POV

After Frank proposed the plane landed a couple of minutes later. We walked off the plan and to the car that was here to pick us up while two of our men grabbed our luggage for us. Frank opens the door for me and I slide into the black Suburban and Frank follows me in. After we are settled Frank gives me a slight nod, which means that it's time to call Pete. The car starts to move as I finish dialing Pete's number.

"Hello Boss, are you back in the states yet?" Pete asks with a lot of worry in his voice.

"Yes I am. I was calling to tell you that we're about to have a lot of company, so get the house ready ASAP." Before Pete can reply I hang up the phone at look at Frank. He is still talking and then I hear him give my address to his right hand man, telling him to be there in fifteen minutes.

After a couple more minutes we arrived and my house and Frank's men were already there waiting out side the gate. Frank rolled down his window and told them to follow us in. We drive up to the watch stand that it outside my gate I roll down me window so the worker and clearly see that it's me. She smiles at me and before I can say anything I tell her to let in the cars behind us. She curtly nods and tells me a quiet "good luck, sir."

After we drive up to my house and the driver parks the car I phone Pete to tell him that I am here and that our guests are here too. Frank gets out of the car looks around to his men. "Listen up guys we have a lot to tell you so save your questions for later. Right now just hear us out and we'll explain everything to you soon." I look at Frank and whisper to him that everything is ready. He looks back to his men and says "follow us and we'll tell you what's happening."

I walk up to my front door and before I can open it Pete does.

"Welcome home Gee, I am sorry that your trip got cut short." He says with a small frown. He steps to the side and opens the door more so everyone can come inside.

"It is what it is. Is everyone gathered?" I ask him while walking inside.

"Yes sir that are gathered in the outside meeting area since I figured not everyone would fit inside." I nod at him and start to walk to the outside meeting area. The guys are following close behind me waiting to see what's happening. I make it to the outside area and look around at my people.

"Everyone listen up we have news!" I yell at the crowd. Everyone turns toward me and then quickly finds a seat. I look for at Frank's men and tell them to take a seat too.

"Good afternoon everyone. We have somethings that we need to tell everyone." I say glancing at Frank. He glances back and realizes that it's his turn to speak.

"Hello everyone. Some of you may know me and some of you may only just know of me," He pauses looking around at all of the faces in the crowd. "I am Frank Iero, head of the Iero family." Right after he says everyone who didn't know this erupts into chaos. As everyone is yelling and talking over Escher other, I grab Frank's hand and squeeze it.

After I let go of his hand I yell a quick "shut up" to everyone in the room to get their attention back. "As we were saying. This is Frank and before you guys start to freak out again, we are engaged to be married." As I finish saying this I look around the room at everyone's shocked faces. Some are filled with a anger and some of worry. Before anyone can say anything I explain more of the situation.

"There is a war coming and the only way we are going to win is if we work together. So I don't care if anyone of you guys don't like this arrangement, you are ALL going to have to deal with it." I look at Frank and he has a slight smile on this face. "So here's our plan."
