The Family Business

Chapter 24

Gerard's POV 

Frank and I quickly pull on some clothes not really exchanging words as we do this. As I walk to my bedroom door Frank pulls me back.

"Are you okay, Gee? Do you want to talk before we walk into this meeting? I know things-"

I cut him off before he can finish talking. "Frankie, I am okay. Now we have a meeting to attend." With that I pull away from him and walk out my bedroom door with him trailing behind me. It's a quick walk before I am looking at the meeting rooms' closed door. I take a deep breath while listening to the chatter that is happening inside the room. I open the door and all eyes fall on Frank and I.

"Okay we need to get this meeting started. So everyone that is standing needs to find a seat ASAP." I say looking around at them while walking to the head of the table. They all get situated and the talking dies out. "Before I get started, Pete, needs to brief everyone with what he found." I say looking at everyone and at the end of my statement my eyes land on Pete.

Pete stands up walking towards the front of the room and pulls Mikeys picture up so we can all see it. "This person I just pulled up on the board is Mikey Smith or formally known as Mikey Way." Pete pauses and looks at me, I give him a nod as a symbol of support. He talks a deep breath and continues. "He is the Boss's younger brother that we thought was dead, but popped up in California with his own family." When Pete says this a quiet chatter breaks out. He continues anyways saying, "We never really knew of his family, The Smiths', because they normally stick to Southern California. They popped on our radar though, because they are trying to set up shop in one of our territories." Pete finishes his statement and then walks back to his seat.

I walk back up to the board. "Thank you, Pete, for the debrief." I nod at him before I continue. "Yes Mikey is my brother,  but that doesn't change what he is doing. I am going to treat him like I would treat any other rival family." I stop and catch my breath while looking to Frank for some support. "Now, here's what we are going to do, we are going to go to the territory that he is trying to take over and we are going to set up a sting. I want Alex to try and buy some drugs off of one of his goons. Then Rian and Zack are going to come in and capture the goon and bring him to the interrogation room." I pause to get a sip of water and to catch my breath. "I will also send a couple of extra people with you in case this all goes south. Now we will be doing this tomorrow, but I want you three to prepare to today for it, which means I want you guys sparing, in the gun range, and running through any scenario that may happen tomorrow." I talk one more quick breath. "You all are dismissed."
