"Mikey," I warningly say.
why does it feel like they're out to fight each other? Takashi was frowning at him—an expression I've only seen now for the first time. in contrast, Mikey smiled at him, but we all knew better than to believe it was of goodwill.
"why won't you let go of her hand, Mitsuya?" Mikey asks tauntingly, glaring at him at this point.
"I don't see you letting go of her either, Mikey," Takashi responds with just as much hidden venom, his grip on my hand tightening.
since when did I become their competition?
"will the both of you please let go," I hiss.
they both let go of me immediately. good, their gentlemanly-ness still hasn't gone completely. I glare at Takashi and then at Mikey, Takashi averted his gaze while Mikey annoyed me more by smiling innocently at me.
I scoff at both of them.
"you somehow forgot that neither of you two get to decide where I go."
"sorry," Takashi mumbles guiltily.
I look at Mikey pointedly, awaiting my apology. he pouts grumpily, looking away from me.
"oy, Mikey, apologize," Draken scolds him.
"I'm sorry, Izumi," he mutters.
I click my tongue, yanking his hair. he winces, holding my hand as he tries to untangle it from his hair.
"you're such a brat, how could you be Toman's leader?" I scowl at him, still not letting go of his hair.
"I know, I know, I'm sorry- now let go Izumi- ow," he whines.
I finally let go of his hair. Takashi had remained unmoving, waiting for me to decide if I'd really go with him. Mikey's the same, looking expectantly at me. somehow, I can't decide, annoyed.
"Draken, can you take me home?" I ask.
Mikey looks at me in betrayal, about to say something but I reach for his hair again—he held my hand to stop me, remaining quiet.
"yeah, I'll take you home." Draken says, "you can't stand either of them, can you?"
"no, I can't," I sigh, retrieving my hand from Mikey's.
"eh, Izumi, I'm sorry, okay?" Mikey pleadingly says. "I won't do it again, just come home with me."
I ignore him as I look at Takashi. he looked sorry, and I just can't bear to see him that way. out of everyone, I feel like I had worried him the most. I take a step towards him, and he meets my eyes in surprise, probably assuming I was going to ignore him.
I can't ignore you, Takashi.
I reach out my hand towards him, on my tip-toes to reach the back of his neck. he looked flustered as I did so, probably expecting a hug; but it wasn't. I pull his face near mine, leaning into his ear.
"why do you look so sorry, Takashi?" I grin.
"I am sorry," he mutters.
I feel his hand travel to the small of my back to support our balance. what's with this smooth motherfucker? I could never go ten seconds without butterflies in my stomach whenever I'm around him.
"let's have dinner together with Mana and Luna some other time, okay?"
he nods. I was about to pull away but he pushes me to himself, my heart practically leaping towards his chest. he then proceeds to wrap his other arm around my frame to hug me.
