"and if you think I'm a dick for all my schemes, you should know Izumi was an accomplice for most of them. but no, that's not the worst part. Mitsuya Takashi, you're dating her right? I saw how sweet you guys are...how would you feel to know she killed someone? she killed our father when she was only seven!"

"Izumi is—"

before Kisaki could finish his words, he was punched squarely on his jaw. I could hear a bone crack from where I stood as Kisaki was knocked to the floor, Takashi quick to crouch down and assault his face some more.

to be honest, my eyes couldn't believe that Takashi was the one beating him up right now—but he was. I've never seen such a side to him considering he was always so gentle around me, but past all that, he was still a person capable of violence for the sake of protecting.

I doubt his rage-filled punches were for the sake of protection though as he shrugs off anyone who tried to peel him off. it was suddenly a mess as Shuji tried to kick Takashi but was pushed down by Chifuyu instead. one of their men tried to attack Chifuyu but Takemichi was quick to protect him.

before I knew it, Kisaki's division was brawling with the other members—Takashi, Kisaki, and Shuji in the middle of it. there was just no way Kisaki stood a chance against Takashi alone.

I tried to recollect my senses but my legs felt like giving in if I took even a single step forward. worry embraces me completely as I watch Takashi finally getting hit.

"Mikey, please stop them."

my voice was barely above a whisper as I blankly stared at the mess before me. I couldn't breathe properly, nor could I make clear of my thoughts. everything felt too heavy to bear, and it scares me to think of what would happen after this.

"ken-chin, take Izumi home," Mikey calmly says as he looks over at Draken.

the boy nods before he grabs at my wrist, looking at me in concern.

"Izumi, everything will be alright. just follow me for now," he reassuringly says.

I don't move from my spot, unable to peel my gaze off from Takashi.

"trust me, Izumi." it was Mikey who spoke this time.

"I'll take care of everything, so please just wait for me at home."

numbness was the only thing that managed to make me follow Draken who remains holding my wrist reassuringly. as I quietly sat behind him on his motorcycle, all I could think about was how filthy I was to even have the audacity to be this near to him.

it's funny since I've known my hands were dirty all along, but I only felt so self-aware now that all my friends knew as well. with these hands, I had ruffled Mikey's hair. with these hands I had held Takashi; I had lovingly cupped his cheek and traced the smoothness of his skin.

with these hands I had killed.

I told Takashi I loved him, I told him every pleasant thing there is about him...and with the same lips I used to kiss him, I spoke lies that deceived, hurt, and manipulated many.

"we're here."

Draken's voice snaps me out of my internal meltdown. I didn't have the courage nor the right to look at him as I get off.

"thanks for the ride," I mutter before I walk over towards the door.

"Izumi," he calls.

I stop in my tracks but I don't dare to look back at him.

"whether what he said was true or not-"

"they're all true," I cut him off.

"I don't care. whatever you've done, nothing will change for me. you're my savior, remember?"
