by Monday, I was determined to avoid Takashi unless it was necessary to talk to him. when I arrived at school, he wasn't waiting for me by my locker either so I guess we had the same instincts for some reason. we didn't eat lunch together because he was busy with the sewing club, although he still gave me a bento despite leaving right after that.
there was tension between us but it still confused me if I was just imagining it or not. the same thing happened on Tuesday, and to be frank, I have no interest in Takashi's bentos if I wasn't eating it with him. so by Wednesday, I decided to talk to him about it.
"Takashi, wait," I call before he could leave my classroom.
"what?" he asks as he makes his way back to my desk.
I give him a small smile as I return the bento he had just dropped on my desk.
"you don't need to make these for me anymore."
he arches a brow at what I said, hesitantly holding the bento I gave to him.
"why?"
it's like you're forced
"no reason, we're not eating lunch together now anyway," I shrug.
"Kurokawa, the club's just-
"like how the club was busy last Saturday?" I smile, "but you were with Hakkai and his sister..."
"are you upset about that?" he asks in a small voice as he scans my face, sitting down on my desk.
"no, of course not." I look away, standing up from my seat, "I'm going home."
"Kurokawa," he sighs as he holds my hand, forbidding me to leave, "lets eat together today then."
this only made me all the more upset. why does it have to sound so forced? even giving me bentos seemed forced since he leaves right after giving them to me, and when I return the bento at the end of the day, he barely says much before he heads back in their club room—not even inviting me in to hang out like usual. ever since last Saturday, something has been off between the two of us, and I'd hate to think that it was because of Yuzuha.
I was for sure sad about finding out about her, and I also pettily decided to ignore him—but he was ignoring me as well! what's his excuse? I planned to sulk only for two days max and go back to our normal routine, but he was the one out here putting some distance.
"I'm going home, Takashi. I'm skipping the afternoon, goodbye," I mutter with slight bitterness, yanking my arm off his hold without another glance at him as I walk away.
was I too petty? if I was, I don't even feel sorry. I just don't want forced company, especially from someone I liked.

"eh? you're home early," Mikey muses as I enter the gate; he was sitting on the veranda with Draken.
"skipping class?" Draken grins.
"taking a page out of your book," I mutter as I make my way to the two.
"did you eat yet?" Mikey smiles as he takes my hand in his, putting it atop his head.
he's just like a dog with fluffy blonde hair. I've noticed that lately he likes it when I ruffle or play with his hair—like a dog; which makes sense since all he does is play around and fall asleep.
"yeah," I lie, because I didn't really have much of an appetite, "did you?"
"yup."
"good," I mutter.
I retrieve my hand from his hair as I walk past them both, lifelessly entering the household. I could feel their curious, worried gazes on my back, but I was too depressed to give them any explanation.
