By the time I reached School grounds, it's 6 o'clock on the dot. Clem gave me specific directions to the Girl's dormanity, I followed as instructed, entering through the huge door and climbing up the creaky stairs until I made it on the fifth floor. 503, 504, 505, 506, 507, 508. I stopped in front of 509, knocking on the door with a closed fist.
The door opened not a minute later, I looked at Clementine who was dressed in a yellow pyjama set, her blonde locks were tied into two french braids. Her baby blue irises inspected me up and down when I pushed past her, entering our small room. There's only two beds, a bedside table and a wardrobe. I look around noticing there isn't a bathroom.
I turn around so that I'm facing her. "A mess? I know. Cameron and I went to the park after studying and he pushed me on the swings." I gestured to my hair with a pointed finger. "That's why this looks like a bird's nest."
I could tell she was trying to come up with something to sooth my worries in my head. Her shoulders shrugged. "At least it looks like a cute bird's nest? She said in an attempt to comfort me, however her tone was uncertain. Clementine went to sit on the neat bed closer to the door. "I saved you the window bed."
I went to sit down, ignoring how hard the bed was. I've slept on worse, I guess I could manage. "You're scared of being watched, huh?"
She grinned. "Yea." Then goes on to say, "Or maybe because I'm nice and wanted you to have a good view over the campus."
I raised a brow. "You can't fool me." She stuck her tongue out and I laughed. But Clementine was right, I did have a good view over Darlington's campgrounds. I noticed two figures attempting to jump the fence. My eyes followed them when they started bolting out of there like Usasin when three guards caught their failed attempt. I held back a snicker, looking at Clem. "There's a curfew at Darlington, right?"
She's repainting her nails sunny yellow on her bed with full concentration, but nodded anyway. "Usually you're not allowed to leave after 8pm on school days, but ever since the accident, Headmaster Philip raised security and changed some policies around. On weekends you can leave and come back whenever you want." She said, in her words. Accident? Just as I'm about to ask a follow up question, Clem interrupted me, her eyes meeting mine this time. "You should probably hurry to the washroom before there's a long line like there usually is. Take a turn down the corner, the washroom is on your left.
She's right, I sincerely doubt I'll have enough time to shower and look presentable tomorrow. I walked to the wardrobe in front of my bed, rummaging through it until I could find decent sleepwear. Eve took care of sending my clothes and belongings a week prior. She took out most of my graphic t-shirts and ripped jeans, replacing them with girly clothes I'd never be caught dead wearing. It's not that the clothes were ugly, they just weren't my style. Eve knows that.
I took conditioner, shampoo, lotion, body wash and my toothbrush and floss to the washroom. On my way there, I passed by the sneering faces of my dorm mates, who didn't look too happy or pleased that I'm sharing a dorm with them. I tried complimenting a girl with caramel locks when a scowl made its way to her lips before she shut the door in my face.
