VII
Two weeks have passed since the incident with Silas. Apart from tripping me in the halls, pulling on my hair and watching his fangirls relentlessly bully and insult me like a damn bystander,—He hadn't so much as utter a word to me. For that, I was grateful. The messages stopped coming and I grew used to the hateful looks he sent.
I was finally feeling comfortable at Darlington. I got closer with Clem and Cam over the days that followed, we normally met up at Café Vivienne and just talk. They're slowly becoming my best friends. Not to mention, my only friends.
I looked at Clementine's side of the room, sighing in relief when she's asleep. I checked the time on my phone,—6:45am, before sneaking out of our shared dorm and onto the rich pavement of Darlington. It might've been early but I was starving like no other, and was craving the breakfast they serve here. The pancakes are to die for.
I glanced around, noticing a minimal number of people surrounding around the tall buildings, probably on their way to brunch also. I looked like a mess with my eyeballs and hair that resembled a bird's nest, so I didn't blame the people for looking at me like I'm some alien. Everyone at Darlinton looked like a dream, its like the requirement of getting in is to be pretty or handsome.
I'm still not used to this part of the campus without the help of Clementine. I followed a group of boys thinking they had the same intention as mine,—to fill our stomachs until we hit the max brink of obesity.
They're further ahead from me, so they enter first. My pace quickened and before I could reach the door, it opens, revealing a half naked Kenzo.
There's a towel over his wet curls, however it doesn't cover his entire head. That's not what has me staring though. No, what has me staring was the very impressive bulge in the joggers and the fact that those loose, low riding grey sweatpants are made purely to tease. And the fact he's shirtless, and holds a basketball on his muscular hips.
He grins. I didn't notice he had dimples until now. "Hoping to sneak a peak?"
I spotted boys behind him with towels wrapped around their waists. That's when I realised this was the boy's shower building.
"I..I didn't realise, uhm.." I look around, stammering. "I was looking for the building where they serve breakfast."
"Next to the school." He answered simply and I felt myself getting even more embarrassed. How could I possibly have missed that?
I thanked him, about to turn and walk away when a very beautiful, very angry blonde passed me in a fury, bumping into my shoulders. I get knocked back a little, managing to steady my balance. I raised my head just in time to see the unfamiliar girl toss herself at his side.
"Bunny!" American. She has to be.
Kenzo eyed her for a second. These two seem to know each other. "Ophelia?" His accented voice spoke, his tone held indifference. "What are you doing here?"
