019 | nightmares to reality

"Wait, so you're telling me that Yejin is appearing in your dreams before we even met her?"

After a long time of having a debate inside his mind, Haruto decided to tell Jeongwoo about the so-called nightmares that he is having every night.

"They are so weird," Haruto breathed out as he laid on his bed.

"Why are you telling this to me now? You could've told me much earlier, you know?" Jeongwoo told Haruto.

Shrugging his shoulders, Haruto remained laying down on his bed. Jeongwoo, who is leaning his back onto the headboard of the same bed, shook his head out of disappointment.

"Okay," Jeongwoo began. "You and Yejin are like, couple in your dreams. Then at the end, something happens that would lead to her death─ or worst, the both of you die."

Haruto closed his eyes as he tried to remember his worst nightmares with Yejin in it. "She always end up dying on my nightmares," he whispered. "I don't know, but it hurts me for some reason."

"Hmm, catching feelings?"

"The fuck are you saying?' Haruto laughed, finally opening his eyes as he looked up to Jeongwoo. "I would never like her."

Looking down at Haruto, Jeongwoo let out a soft chuckle. "You would never know, Haruto," he told the latter. "Maybe you'd fall for her if she kept showing in your dreams."

"That is impossible to happen."

"Oh, really?" Jeongwoo dramatically asked before flicking Haruto's forehead. "Maybe you are saying that because Asahi and Yejin are dating as of now."

Once again, Haruto laughed. "Do not say such things, Jeongwoo. Why are you pushing me to her?"

"Because I'm bored," the latter shrugged.

The sudden ringing of the doorbell echoed throughout Haruto's home. The two young boys looked at each other as they have no idea on who took a visit at this hour of the day.

Well, visitors at midnight definitely sounds creepy and suspicious.

The doorbell continued ringing after every second. It seems like the person outside the door is in a rush.

"Who might that be?" Haruto asks Jeongwoo as he got off of his bed. "Did you invite someone without telling me?"

"What the? I did not!" Jeongwoo whisper-yelled. "And if I did, it would be Junghwan and we would come here together!"

Haruto realized that Jeongwoo had a point. It was only the three of them who would always have a sleepover on his house.

"Shit," Haruto cursed under his breath, definitely annoyed by the sound of the doorbell that continues to ring.

Walking towards the window of his room, he slowly opened the curtains as he took a small peek outside. Jeongwoo stood behind the latter, doing the same.

They saw four familiar figures outside the gate. One of them is continuously pressing the doorbell, while the others look like they are in panic.

"Isn't that Keita who is pressing the doorbell?" Jeongwoo asked behind Haruto after recognizing the familiar figures. "Wait, why is Jaehyuk carrying Yejin?"

"They need help," Haruto blurted out.

It took them a second to realize everything. Haruto and Jeongwoo immediately ran out of the house, not minding them wearing pajamas.

"Thank goodness!" Keita exclaimed quietly, stoppping himself on pressing the doorbell as soon as he saw Haruto and Jeongwoo' running towards them.

"Please, keep Yejin," Jaehyuk told them as he handed an unconscious Yejin to Jeongwoo. "Don't let her go out unless we take her."

Jeongwoo was confused at first, but he carried Yejin anyway.

"Junkyu?" Haruto called out as soon as he spotted Junkyu shifting his gaze from left to right.

"Yeah?" the latter responded without even sparing a glance on Haruto.

"What's happening?" Jeongwoo asked, struggling to carry an unconscious Yejin.

"Fight in between us and that other group," Keita answered. "They wanted to get Yejin in order to blackmail Yedam. Too bad for them that we got her first."

Junkyu then snapped his fingers, giving a signal on Jaehyuk and Keita. "They're coming," he spoke.

"Who's coming?" asked Haruto, but Keita pushed him back lightly.

"Go inside your house, now. Remember what Jaehyuk told you."

"Okay?" Haruto responded, unsure. He then guided Jeongwoo to head back inside while the latter is carrying Yejin.

The three boys ran further away inside the village as the running footsteps from the opposite way are getting nearer each second.

"I'm worried for them," Jeongwoo spoke as soon as they got back inside.

"Same," Haruto agreed, locking the front door behind him. He then went up to Yejin who is still carried by Jeongwoo, checking if she has injuries.

"Did they knock her out?" Jeongwoo whispered after Haruto was done on checking the girl.

"I don't know," Haruto shrugged. "Let her sleep on my bed. As for us, we'll sleep on the floor with mattress."

Blowing out a whistle, Jeongwoo shot a playful look on Haruto as they went upstairs.

"What?" Haruto questioned. "Stop giving me that look."

"I see how concerned you are," Jeongwoo stated as he gently placed an unconscious Yejin on Haruto's bed. "What if you will have another of those nightmares? Take note, she is here."

Letting out a scoff, Haruto went to his closet to grab two small mattresses and two blankets. He then took two pillows from his bed.

"Shut your mouth, Jeongwoo," Haruto spats to the younger boy. "She might hear you. Let's sleep now."

Jeongwoo still has a playful look on his face as he laid down on one of the mattress. "We still have to explain to Yejin tomorrow on why she's here," he said.

"That's up to you," Haruto tells the younger boy.

"Unfair," Jeongwoo mumbled as he wrapped himself with a blanket before closing his eyes. "Good night," he whispered.

"Night," Haruto briefly responded as he turned off all of the lights inside his room.

He then took one last glance on Yejin as he tucked himself onto the blanket, not minding the no gap between him and Jeongwoo.

'Why are my nightmares slowly turning into reality?' Haruto thought to himself. 'What if she dies? There's a possibility that I would die too.'

Haruto immediately shook his head at the sudden thought. He then closed his eyes, leaving his own questions unanswered as he let himself drift off to sleep.
