It is currently past nine in the morning of a cloudy Saturday. Haruto locked the front door of his home before proceeding to take the sidewalk, making his way to exit the village.
Today is the day that they will do their group project on Intak's place. But before that, they have to meet up on the convenience store just outside the village where Haruto resides.
Haruto finally reached the convenience store, but he did not bother to go inside since Chaemin and Junkyu only have their shift every night. He heard the door opened from behind and he did not mind at all.
"Haruto? Is that you?"
The tall boy looked back, seeing Harry June and Sungwon that just walked outside of the convenience store.
"How long have you guys been here?" asked Haruto.
"Probably ten minutes?" Sungwon responded, unsure. "Want some?" he asked Haruto, offering the bag of chips that he is holding.
Haruto only smiled before getting two chips from inside the bag and thanked Sungwon after.
Harry June let out a quiet groan, growing a little impatient because of waiting. "What's taking them so long?" he asked while munching on the cookies that he bought.
Just then, they saw Jeongwoo walking towards them with Yejin beside him.
"Here we are!" Jeongwoo exclaimed as he shook Yejin's shoulders, but stopped when he noticed that they are not complete yet.
"You saw that right, Jeongwoo," Harry June huffed. "I bet Jeongseob is losing his shit right now."
"You guessed that right," Sungwon agreed. "Look at them," he added, pointing at Jeongseob and Dara that are bickering.
"Where are we exactly heading?" Yejin suddenly asked.
"Intak's apartment," Harry June responded with his mouth full of cookies.
Haruto's gaze landed on Yejin. He saw how she tensed up after hearing Intak's name.
"Is something wrong?" Haruto asks the girl as he stood beside her.
Yejin shook her head while looking on the ground.
"Just stick with Jeongwoo all the time once we get there, okay?" Haruto tells her, in which she nodded in response.
Jongseob finally halted in front of them with Dara stomping ahead of him.
"One more complain and I'll tell Intak to remove you from our group!" Jongseob told Dara, almost yelling at the girl.
"Sungwon!" Dara whined, walking towards Sungwon. "Look how mean Jongseob is!" she complained as she clung her arms on the boy.
Sungwon threw a dirty look to Dara before sliding her arms off of him. "Get off me, will you?" he hissed.
"Why don't we just head to Intak's apartment?" Harry June sarcastically asked as he started walking.
"We are doing our project on Intak's apartment?" Dara exclaimed out of surprise.
"Yes, we will do our project there so no flirting later, okay?" Jongseob told the girl with a fake smile.
"Uh, excuse me, Jongseob?" Dara scoffed with wide eyes.
"Everyone knows your true colors, Dara," Sungwon muttered, earning a nod from Jeongwoo.
"Guys, just cut it out," Haruto told the boys.
Dara was surprised at Haruto's words. She attempted to run up to him, but Haruto shot her a sharp glare and that made her stop.
They walked for over fifteen minutes with no talking to each other. Arriving in front of the building where Intak's apartment is located, they looked at each other.
"So? Who's gonna go inside first?" Harry June asked.
Jongseob then cleared his throat, looking at Dara from the corner of his eye. "Lee Dara, we're waiting," he tells the girl standing beside him.
Dara crossed her arms against her chest as she glared at Jongseob. "Why me?" she asked.
Before Jongseob could even give a sarcastic response towards Dara, they saw Intak getting out of the building.
"Let us head inside?" Intak invited, earning a nod from the group.
All of them headed inside the building and followed Intak inside the elevator. Pressing the button that would lead them to the sixth floor of the building, Intak did not bother to make an eye contact to any of them.
As soon as the elevator door opened, Intak walked out and headed to his place with the others following behind.
After entering the pass code on the door, Intak opened it, revealing what's inside.
"Choi Jiung, I already told you to put a shirt on," Intak tells Jiung who is seated on the couch, shirtless.
"I'm on a game," Jiung responded with his eyes still glued on the TV screen, fingers pressing onto the controller.
Theo then came out from the kitchen, eyes widening at the faces that greeted him on the living room.
"Intak, why is he here?" Dara asked, her index finger pointing towards Theo.
"Because he lives next door?" Intak responded, unsure if his answer is accurate enough.
"Aren't you happy to see your ex-boyfriend?" Theo teasingly asks Dara.
Jeongwoo let out a gasp, Haruto's jaw dropped, and Harry June has a disgusted look all over his face.
"Should we start doing our project?" Intak suggested in order to avoid the current situation.
"Yeah, we should," Sungwon agreed.
Everyone went to their respective groups and soon started making their project.
While everyone is focused, Haruto's gaze is shifting in between Yejin and Intak. Yejin is seated beside Jeongwoo while intak is seated two meters away from her.
Haruto noticed how Intak would steal glances on Yejin from time to time. He could see from the corner of his eye how Intak's gaze on Yejin were so gloomy.
"Haruto, you've folded enough red papers," Jongseob spoke, making Haruto to focus back on making their project.
Haruto couldn't just get his mind out of thinking some thoughts. There are so many questions running around his head, all unanswerable by now.
What's with the students of YG High? Why can't they leave their past buried on that school?
"You good there, Haruto?"
Snapping out of his thoughts, Haruto's gaze landed on Intak. "Yeah, I'm good," he responded, looking down after.
