Gripping onto the bed sheets tightly with his body sweating, it was another night for him. Haruto is having another nightmare, as usual.
"Stop!" he screamed before his body shot up.
In between his panting, Haruto let out a sigh of relief when he was greeted by the darkness of his own room after he opened his eyes.
"That was the worst one that I've ever had," he mumbled as he got off of his bed. "Why did she have to die? Freaking hell."
Heading towards his closet, Haruto grabbed one of his hoodie. He slid the hoodie on, but still wearing his matching pajamas.
After grabbing his phone from the top of the nightstand, Haruto quickly left his home. His one and only destination at this time is to the convenience store.
Passing through the entrance door, Haruto was surprised to see Chaemin by the counter. On the other hand, the girl herself was not surprised by the younger boy's presence.
"Another nightmare?" Chaemin asked, receiving a nod from Haruto as a response.
"That was the most terrible that I've ever had."
"Why? What happened?" Chaemin asked out of curiosity.
Leaning by the island counter, Haruto had his head hung low. "She died," he responded briefly.
"I don't want to hear more," said Chaemin, both hands waving in front of her.
Quietly, Haruto thought of telling Chaemin the truth about the girl that has been appearing on his dreams for over a long time.
Before the boy could even speak, Junkyu entered the convenience store with a bright smile.
"Haruto!" Junkyu beamed before running towards the tall boy, hugging him tight.
Chaemin could only let out a chuckle while watching the two boys in front of him.
"Had another nightmare?" asked Junkyu as he broke from the hug.
"Should I tell you guys?" Haruto abruptly asked.
Junkyu and Chaemin looked at each other before bringing their gaze on Haruto.
"Please, promise me that you will not tell any single soul after I say everything," Haruto asked, almost begging.
Junkyu went inside the counter, standing beside Chaemin. "Tell us about it," he told the younger boy.
"The girl that has been appearing on my dreams," Haruto began. "It was─"
Haruto was interrupted when the bell by the entrance door chimed, indicating that a customer entered.
"Uh, hello?" Yedam greeted awkwardly after closing the entrance door. "Did I interrupt you guys?"
"No, not at all," Haruto responded quickly.
"Okay then," Yedam shrugged.
"Didn't Asahi told you that you should watch over Yejin?" Junkyu asks Yedam. "Why are you here at this hour?"
"Because I have to buy some pads, Kim Junkyu," Yedam responded with a monotone voice.
Junkyu bit his lower lip before mouthing out an apology to Yedam. The latter only gave them a small smile before walking down through the aisles.
"Let us continue talking after Yedam leaves," Chaemin whispered to the two boys.
The three of them went silent for over a minute. Not long after, Yedam came back with a bottle of coke and a pack of pads.
"I'll get these," Yedam said as he placed the items on the top of the counter.
"I think you are missing something," Junkyu tells the boy.
Yedam gave the elder a questioned look. "I said, I will only take these."
Rolling his eyes, Junkyu grabbed one pack of cigarette from the rack beside him and placed it along with the pack of pads and bottle of coke.
"Place that back, Junkyu," said Yedam with a serious voice.
"Should I?" Junkyu teased.
"I haven't smoked for a while," Yedam suddenly confessed. "Please, don't make me."
"Is it because of the same reason?" asked Junkyu.
Haruto and Chaemin could only eye each other as the tension between Yedam and Junkyu are rising.
"No," Yedam quickly responded. "Yejin wanted me to quit smoking, so I'm trying my best to avoid it. I don't want my younger sister to leave me just because I am being a dumbass."
Haruto then gave Chaemin a look, telling her to break the tension before it gets worse.
"Junkyu, stop being like that," Chaemin tells the boy beside her before getting the items that Yedam took.
On the other hand, Junkyu only shrugged his shoulders. Yedam then paid for the items that he got, immediately leaving the place without giving any last word nor look.
At that exact moment, Chaemin hit Junkyu's arm. "I already told you to stop pushing Yedam on smoking!"
"I was just testing him, okay?" Junkyu defended before his eyes landed on Haruto. "What was that thing that you were trying to say, Watanabe?"
Biting his tongue, Haruto shook his head. He couldn't say it anymore after he saw Yedam.
"Come on," Junkyu whined. "Don't you know how long Chaemin and I wanted for this day to come?"
Haruto then furrowed his eyebrows. "What do you mean?"
"We are waiting for the day to come that you are ready to tell us about that girl in your dreams," Chaemin explained. "Just say it quickly─"
"Yejin," Haruto abruptly said.
"Yejin?" Junkyu repeated. "Why is she involved in this conversation?"
Out of annoyance, Chaemin lightly smacked the back of Junkyu's head. "The girl in her dreams is Yejin─ wait, what?!"
"How dare she to smack me like that," Junkyu grumbled.
Haruto immediately shushed them. "Guys, I don't want anyone to know about this. Please, just keep it to yourselves."
"Are you sure that it was Yejin?" asked Junkyu. "Maybe they just have similar looks."
"I call her by her name," Haruto spoke. "And the way she acts, those little gestures that she does, and even her favorites. They are definitely the same."
"Does that mean that you two are meant for each other?"
"Junkyu, you can't just base on that."
"But there is a high chance."
"No, that's not it."
"I don't like Yejin," Haruto spoke out of the blue.
Junkyu and Chaemin looked at the younger boy with wide eyes.
"Not even in your dreams?" asked Junkyu.
Haruto shook his head with a chuckle escaping from his lips. "It would be funny if I like her just because she is in my dreams almost every night."
