With a small smile on his lips, Haruto watched as the girl ran towards him. Her hair was swaying and bouncing at every step that she takes, running towards a smiling Haruto.
"You good?" Haruto asked her with a slight chuckle as she halted in front of him.
"You think so?" she asked back, panting heavily.
"I didn't ask for you to run."
"I didn't accuse you either."
"Alright, alright," Haruto chuckled. "Where do you want to go?" he asked her as they started walking, eyes wandering around the city.
"I don't know," she responded with a slight laugh. "What about you? Is there a specific place that you wanted to go?"
Haruto shook his head with a smile on his lips before letting out a breath.
"Let's just take a walk around the city then," Haruto said as he intertwined his fingers with hers. From the corner of his eye, he saw how her cheeks blushed in a light shade of pink.
They walked around the city for minutes, turning on the corners and passing by the small shops on the sidewalk.
Haruto smiled when he saw an ice cream truck across the street, making him to halt on his steps.
"I'll get both of us an ice cream," he tells her.
"Is there an ice cream parlor nearby?" she asked.
The boy then pointed across the street, making her see the ice cream truck.
"Wait here, okay?" Haruto tells her as he let go of her hand.
The girl only nodded, watching a happy Haruto crossing the street, jogging towards the ice cream truck.
Haruto happily ordered his and her favorite ice cream flavors. After he paid for the ice creams, he happily walked away from the truck, holding an ice cream cup on each hand.
His eyes landed on the exact spot across the street where he left her, but he saw no one. He tried to look around, but only the buildings remained.
The people and the vehicles all disappeared, leaving Haruto alone.
He was about to call her name, but his vision started to get dark. His grip on the ice cream cups loosened, dropping them on the ground after a second.
Haruto felt his head getting lighter until the darkness started to fill his whole vision.
"Shit!"
Haruto shot up from his bed, buds of sweat dripping from his forehead. He closed his eyes once again, panting heavily because of another dream that he had.
"Why did I dream of her again," he mumbled, unwrapping himself from the blanket before getting off of his bed.
He lazily got out of his room and travelled down the stairs until he stepped in the kitchen. He got himself a glass of water from the fridge and leaned himself by the kitchen counter.
Haruto huffed before finishing his glass of water. Resting the empty glass on top of the counter, he let out a huff.
"I need some coke, that's it."
Rushing back to his room, Haruto grabbed a jacket from his closet and rushed down the stairs once again. He headed out towards the front door and locked it after.
"Cool, I'm heading to the convenient store while wearing pajamas," Haruto chuckled as he wore his jacket.
After turning a few corners, Haruto finally reached the convenient store. He pushed the entrance door open, making the bells chime at the top of the entrance.
"Oh, Haruto!" Junkyu exclaimed from the counter. "Here for a can of coke at two in the morning?" he asked.
"As usual," Haruto responded with a shrug before making his way towards the fridges just beside the counter.
"Why are you awake at this hour anyway?" asked Junkyu.
Haruto opened one of the fridges, grabbing two cans of coke before shutting it again.
"Same reason," he responded, sliding the two cans on the counter.
"Oh," Junkyu mouthed out. "You dreamt about her again?"
Haruto hummed as he handed the exact amount to Junkyu. The latter then handed the two cans of coke to Haruto.
The bell above the entrance door chimed as another regular customer came in.
"Ah, he's here again," Junkyu muttered under his breath.
Haruto then eyed the newly arrived customer. He doesn't look familiar to him, but there is something about that guy that made him uneasy.
He watched him getting a pack of cigarette from the small rack on the top of the counter and he handed it to Junkyu after.
"When will you stop?" Junkyu asks the guy as he punched the pack of cigarette that was handed to him.
"Where's Chaemin?" the guy asked, ignoring Junkyu's question.
"She's sick," Junkyu briefly responded as he handed the pack of cigarette to the customer. "When will you stop smoking?" he asked again.
"When she finally falls for me, I'll quit smoking."
"Ew," Junkyu choked out. "Stop being so confident, Yedam."
"Whatever," Yedam deadpanned as he opened the pack of cigarette and brought one stick in between his lips. "I'll go with you after the dismissal later in the afternoon," he tells Junkyu before exiting the convenient store.
Haruto finally opened a can of coke. He brought the opening of the can in between his lips and drank a little amount.
"Does that guy like Chaemin?" he asks Junkyu after gulping down the liquid.
"Pretty obvious," Junkyu responded. "Anyways, what did you dream about earlier?"
"I think we're having a date," Haruto spoke. "I just bought ice cream for us from across the street where I left her. After that, my gaze fell on the same position where I left her, but she was already gone. All of the people are gone. Same for the vehicles, even the ice cream truck where I bought the ice creams was gone."
"Then your vision went black before you woke up," Junkyu finishes, already knowing what happened. "I wanted to know what she looks like."
"You better get in my dreams," Haruto joked.
"If I could be in your dreams, I'd date that girl," Junkyu said while wiggling his eyebrows.
"Date, my ass," Haruto huffed.
