The kingdom of Candania is ruled over by King Wilbur Wonka. He's ready to step down from the throne and have his son, Prince Willy take over. The thing is, Prince Willy doesn't dream of taking the throne. Instead, against his father's wishes, he makes the most magical chocolate and candy. The people of Candania have thus dubbed him The Chocolate Prince.
Rose Bucket and her younger brother Charlie live in a cottage in the woods. Rose and Charlie lost their mother at a young age. Their father remarried a woman, both wicked and beautiful, named Avonmora. Unfortunately, the two children lost their father to illness and were now left under the care of their evil stepmother.
Avonmora would treat the two children as her slaves, making them do all the cleaning and tending to her every need. While she despised both siblings, she grew to hate Rose the most out of jealousy. Avonmora was jealous of the fact that Rose was seen as more beautiful than she was.
King Wilbur decides to throw a ball in order to find his son a bride. However, Prince Willy doesn't wish to be married. After an argument with his father, Willy parts into the woods. He hears the most angelic voice singing a song. He follows it.
Rose decides to pick cherries from her prized cherry trees with the help of her friend, a goose named Honkers. She starts to sing, unaware that she has gained the attention of the Prince, who is watching her from behind a tree.
Prince Willy lays eyes on the lovely maiden, and he finds himself enamoured with her. It would take a few more trips into the forest before he finally meets her.
Rose doesn't know he's the prince, for no one has ever seen him because never comes out of the castle. She finds herself falling for the man.
Romance, friendship, magic, and evil lie ahead in this tale of Willy, The Chocolate Prince, and Rose, The Lovely Maiden.
