Rose and Willy cook dinner together for their date night. Instead of eating it though, they decide to have a food fight instead.
It was Willy and Rose's date night tonight. The Buckets were with the twins tonight. Mrs Bucket mentioned something about taking them to the zoo. That left Rose and Willy on their own for tonight. And they decided to stay in and have a fancy dinner.
Their choice of dinner for tonight: spaghetti with meatballs and sauce. And everything was going to be homemade. Right down to the pasta. And Rose and Willy were cooking. The Oompa-Loompas offered to cook. Rose politely declined, giving them the night off. The Oompa-Loompas understood.
The two Wonkas were in the kitchen. Rose decided to make the pasta. She had actually learned how to make pasta from Mrs Mason. That left Willy in charge of the sauce and the meatballs. He admitted, he wasn't much of a cook. His specialty was in sweets and treats. Not gourmet meals like this. But he wanted to try his best. He wanted to make a wonderful meal for his lovely wife.
That's why beforehand, he sought out advice from Mrs Bucket. His mother-in-law always made such a lovely meal, he knew she was the best person to help. She gave him a recipe and even went to the store with him to help pick out the freshest ingredients.
"How's the sauce coming along, cocoa bean?" Rose asked. She felt that the dough was coming along nicely. She was now cutting it up and rolling it into little strings, and then they'd be ready to be cooked into actual spaghetti. But, she was more worried about Willy. He didn't cook a lot. And the times where he did try to cook, he'd either end up with a mess or an injury. Poor thing has accidentally burned himself or cut his finger more times than she could count.
Willy was stirring the sauce in a pot on the stove, simmering at low heat like Mrs Bucket told him. "I think you're going to be very impressed with it, starshine" Willy boasted. "Would you like a taste?"
"I would" Willy put some of the sauce on the wooden spoon he was using to stir. He brought the spoon to Rose's lips, with his hand cupped underneath it to catch any falling sauce. Rose's lips touched the spoon and she got a taste of the sauce on her tongue. "Wow, Willy. That is amazing!"
"Thank you" Willy felt relieved that he hadn't completely botched up the sauce. He was done with the sauce now, and felt confident enough to move on to the meatballs. He was really looking forward to seeing how their dinner would turn out, and of course, how it would taste.

They had done it. They had managed to cook a gourmet spaghetti dish. It was displayed on their dining table, along with a basket of bread and a chocolate cake, both of which was given to them by Mrs Mason. Neither of them drank alcohol, so they had a bottle of sparkling apple cider.
"Look at that" Rose admired the cuisine, hands on her hips. "Looks delicious"
"Yep" Willy agreed, also admiring the food.
"Makes you just wanna dive right in and it eat, doesn't it?"
Willy gave her a confused look. "Well, what else are you going to do with food, silly?"
Rose grinned. She was definitely up to something, as much as Willy could tell. She had her eyes set on the plate of spaghetti. It was a big plate. They may have made a little too much, enough to feed the Bucket family three times over at least. Willy was watching her intently, seeing what exactly she was going to do with the food. It didn't look like she wanted to eat anymore.
Rose grabbed a handful of the spaghetti, making sure to get plenty of sauce and a couple of meatballs in her grasp. Turning to Willy, she glanced down at the spaghetti, then at her husband. She still had that devilish smirk on her face. Willy became nervous about what her intentions were with the food. "Starshine, that's not how you eat spaghetti!" He chastised her as if she were a little child. "You need to use a fork"
"Oh, I'm not eating it, cocoa bean" She said. "I'm actually going to do this!" And before Willy could even blink, he had spaghetti chucked at him. It hit him right in the chest, with the sauce splattering on his face. Willy was shocked, at first. Why would his wife throw food at him? But, then it hit him, and he knew what she wanted to do.
Rose couldn't stop laughing. The look on Willy's face was absolutely priceless. "Oh, you think that's funny, do you, starshine?" He pretended to sound angry. Willy walked over to the table. Rose thought he was going to go for the spaghetti, but he went for the cake instead. He grabbed a big piece right from the middle. "You want a fight then you've got one!" He launched the piece of cake at Rose.
She laughed when it hit her, and Willy started laughing as well. Who needed to eat dinner, when you can just throw it at each other instead? So that's how they spent their date night. Just having a full blown food fight. They gathered everything they could from the kitchen. Rose went for all the baking ingredients, while Willy opted for all the fruits and veggies, albeit the soft ones. He didn't want to hurt her.
They chucked their foods of choice, back and forth at each other. They made sure not to hit each other in the face though. They wanted to have fun, and it wouldn't be any fun if they hurt each other. By the end of their food fight, the entire house was a mess. As were Rose and Willy. Poor Willy was covered head to toe in flour and cocoa powder. Rose had bits of tomato stuck in her hair, and she was sticky from the various fruit juices.
"I surrender!" Rose held up her hands in defeat.
"I will accept your surrender, only on one condition" He said, holding up his index finger.
"What would that be?"
"You have to kiss me!"
"If that's what it takes for this war to end" Rose grabbed Willy's face and pulled him into a kiss. They couldn't help but think each other's lips tasted funny due to the combination of many foods together. They pulled away, both of them making a disgusted face. "Did that taste funny to you too?"
"It did" Willy said, wiping his mouth. "As much as I enjoy your kisses, starshine, I didn't enjoy that one"
"Neither did I" Rose agreed. "I think we both need to take a shower"
"What about the house? It's a mess!"
"We'll get it cleaned" Rose grabbed Willy's hand. She flashed him a wink and a sultry smile. "Now come on, cocoa bean. Let's jump in the shower" With that, Rose pulled Willy in the direction of the bathroom.
What they didn't know is that outside on their porch, about four Oompa-Loompas had watched the entire food fight through the windows. They were appalled at the mess left afterwards. The four of them looked at each other, shaking their heads, knowing they'd be the ones who'd have to clean it up.
