No one seemed to take notice that Prince Willy hadn't been in the castle all day. King Wilbur was too wrapped up in affairs that needed to be addressed and taken care of. As for Lady Scarlett, well she had treated herself to a day full of pampering and shopping so she was out of the castle all day too. The only one who seemed to notice was Daniel. And he wagered a guess at just where, or should he say who the Prince was with.

"Willy!" Daniel's call echoed through the large and empty hallways. "Where are you? Are you back yet?"

Finally, Daniel had stumbled upon Willy in the library. He was sitting in the large chair in front of the fireplace. He was staring at the dancing flames, a smile on his face and a dazed gleam in his eye. In his hands, he held a beautiful red rose. He stroked the velvet petals ever so softly between his fingers.

"Willy?" Daniel said. But Willy didn't seem to budge. He just stared at the fire and stroked the rose petal. "My Prince? Are you okay?" Daniel waved his hand in front of Willy's face.

"Is this what it's like to be in love?" Willy finally spoke. Those words took Daniel by surprise.

"I'm sorry?"

"She's all I can think about. She's all I want to see. She's the only one I want to be with. When I'm not with her, it makes my heart physically hurt"

"Are you talking about Rose?" What kind of question was that? Of course Willy was talking about Rose. Who else would make him feel this way? Certainly not Lady Scarlett. "That's where you were today, weren't you? With Rose?"

"I know what you're going to say, Daniel. How I will get in trouble for sneaking out of the castle, but, Rose is worth the trouble, believe me"

Daniel smiled. He know he should be disappointed in Willy for rebeling the way he was, but how could he when he saw how happy he was? If Willy was going to continue sneaking away to see Rose, then so be it. There was a pitcher of water on the table so Daniel decided to fetch himself a glass.

"I'm happy for you, Willy" Daniel admitted. He poured the water into the glass and took a sip from it.

"I'm glad you think so because I'm gonna ask her to marry me"

Water sprayed out of Daniel's mouth. Was the Prince serious!? He had only just met this girl! "Are you mad?" Daniel asked Willy.

Willy narrowed his eyes at his friend. He was hoping he'd be a little more supportive. "I'm as sane as I've ever been"

"I know, it's just...you've only just met this girl"

"Is it any different than my father betrothing me to someone I hadn't even met before a few days ago? Or how about when I was betrothed to a baby of all people?"

"That was when you were ten"

"Yes, but if Princess Briar was still alive and the kingdom of Blossom was still standing, I'd have been married to her by now"
