Willy wanted to do something really special for Rose tonight. It was date night tonight, and their first one as a married couple no less. So, of course, the date had to be special. You only have one first date as a married couple in your entire life. He was with Charlie right now, working with him in the Inventing Room. Willy decided to ask him for some advice.
"No one knows Rose quite better than you do, Charlie" Willy mentioned.
"I know everything about, Rose" Charlie said. "We are brother and sister after all"
"What's something that she's always wanted to do, but never had the chance to?"
Charlie paused to think. "Well, she likes to dance" His eyes lit up when he thought of the perfect idea. He had remembered a poster that he saw on his way home from school. "I know, Mr. Wonka! You could take her ballroom dancing. There's a ball coming to town. I'm sure she would love to go"
"That's a brilliant idea, Charlie!" Willy agreed. It would've been a perfect idea, if it hadn't been for one little flaw. "There is a problem though. I have no idea how to dance"
"Well sure you do, Mr. Wonka. Remember when you and Rose danced at your wedding?'" Charlie asked, to which Willy nodded. "That's all you're doing at a ballroom dance. There's really nothing to it"
Willy became much more confident with the idea. "Yeah, you're right!" He was very much looking forward to this ball. He was mostly looking forward to seeing Rose in her dress. Her dress! She need a dress! There was only one person who could make a perfect dress for his starshine. "Charlie, could you talk to Rose for me? I need to speak with Lucy"

Charlie did as Willy asked and went to go speak with Rose. He found her at the Bucket house with the other Buckets. Rose was helping Mrs Bucket peel some potatoes for dinner. "Hello everyone!" Charlie greeted as he walked through the door.
"Hello Charlie!" All the Buckets greeted him.
Charlie sat down beside Rose at the table. "Rose, can I ask you a question?"
"Of course you can"
"How would you feel about ballroom dancing?"
Rose's eyes lit up. "Oh, that would be lovely! Isn't there a ball coming to town next week?"
"There is, and Mr. Wonka wants to take you"
"You should go, darling" Mrs Bucket encouraged. "I remember once your father took me ballroom dancing. It was a splendid time"
"Well, of course I'll go with Willy, but I don't have a dress" Rose said sadly.
"Mr. Wonka is getting it taken care of" Charlie told her.
Rose smiled again. "This is going to be so exciting and so romantic!" Charlie smiled at his sister's excitement. He grabbed one of the potatoes and the extra peeler that was on the table. "Oh, Charlie, you don't have to do that"
"I want to, Rosie" He said. Rose didn't argue with him. The two siblings chatted while they peeled away at the potatoes.

It was the night of the ball. Once again, Lucy had done an outstanding job with making Rose's dress. It was a big pink dress with puffy sleeves and a ruffled skirt. She embroidered the neck line with a rose in the middle and stems on either side of it. She emerged from the bedroom to show Willy her dress.
"Oh, cocoa bean, how does this dress look?" Rose asked her husband.
Willy turned around and when he saw Rose, his eyes widened and his mouth fell open. "Oh, starshine" He sighed dreamily. "You look absolutely beautiful" Willy grabbed Rose's hand and placed a gentle kiss upon it. Rose smiled. Willy looked quite handsome tonight, not that he didn't usually. His outfit for tonight wasn't much different from his usual attire. "Shall we go then, my starshine?"
"Yes, indeed, my cocoa bean" Rose replied. Willy offered her his arm and she took it. The ball was being held in the town hall which wasn't very far. So they decided that they would walk there instead of taking the elevator. Besides, Rose's dress wouldn't have been able to fit.
It sure was a lovely evening. A perfect night for a ball, you might add. The snow was softly falling and it sparkled beneath the moonlight. The couple arrived at the town hall. Willy showed the invitations that he had acquired to the man at the door. They were let inside.
"Oh, my!" Rose said almost breathlessly when she saw the decorations. "It's absolutely beautiful in here!" There were a bunch of twinkling lights, floral arrangements, an ice sculpture and there was even an orchestra.
"Well, it doesn't quite compare with the factory or you" Willy said, to which Rose giggled. "But it is marvelous, I have to admit"
The orchestra started playing a piece that couples go waltz to. "Oh, Willy, let's dance!" She grabbed his arm and tried to pull him but he wouldn't budge, completely frozen in place. "Oh, Willy, what's wrong?"
"I don't exactly know how to-"
"Dance? Well, you danced with me at our wedding didn't you?"
"I suppose I did, starshine"
"Then just dance with me how you danced at our wedding!" Rose encouraged. This time, Willy let her lead him out to the dancefloor. "Would you feel better if I lead?"
"Yes, please" Willy said shyly.
The two of them started to dance, with Rose taking lead. The two of them swayed and floating across the dance floor, as if the wind were carrying them. Eventually, Willy became comfortable enough with his dancing that he decided that he would take the lead from Rose. "Starshine, would you mind if I lead now?" He asked.
"Of course you may, cocoa bean" She passed the reigns onto Willy and he started to lead. The two of them were having the time of their life. It didn't even feel like the other couples were there with them. It was just the two of them in their own little world. Rose quite enjoyed it whenever Willy would twirl her or dip her.
But sadly, the night had to come to an end. Rose and Willy wished that it didn't. If they could, they would spend the whole night here dancing. Rose was visibly upset. "What's wrong, my starshine?" Willy asked, cupping his wife's face.
"I don't want this night to end" She said sadly. "I want to keep dancing with you"
"Well, we might not be able to continue dancing here, but we can keep dancing when we get back to the factory"
Rose's eyes lit up and she smiled. "You mean it?"
"We can dance all night if you want to"
And with that promise, they made their return to the factory. They returned to their home within the factory. Willy had put some classical and romantic music on. He offered Rose his hand. He held onto the promise he made her. The two of them danced all night, until the sun rose, signaling the beginning of a brand new day.
