Tamir's POV.
I get out the car, fresh and ready.
I haven't been on a formal date in about four years now, I haven't had to put any effort in any date, not until now. I can't tell you what it is, but something about Halcyon makes me want to try, just for her sake.
I make my way up the hotel I moved her in earlier today then call down for the elevator, I know for sure, we'll be coming back here at the end of the night.
Travelling down the hall I carry a rectangular jewelry box and a single rose in hand then come to a stop at her room and knock. The door opens to Kent and I walk in. "She's in the bathroom sir," he tells me and I nod to him.
I move to the bathroom walking in on her sitting on the edge of the tub trying to strap her heels in. "You're here." She looks up at me. Fuck. Everything about her has me enchanted, I'm overly and utterly consumed by her. "You look good," she continues. She stands showing off the rest of her dress. "So what do you think?"
"Wow," it comes out before I even know what the hell I'm saying. The dress is a black velvet dress that hugs all her curves, it's held by thin strings as straps and on one leg has a revealing slit. She can truly make anything look good.
"Wow?" She moves to me, the heels adds height to her, now she's almost at eye to eye with me, almost but not there. "You don't look half as bad yourself." She smooths the tux I'm wearing.
She chose a tux in the same material as her dress, a white silk shirt underneath it and no tie. No business shoes, just Gucci and fitting jeans. She reaches up to me and starts to unbutton the top the moves to the second then she does a third.
"There." She pats me down once more and I finally get my hand working handing her the rose. "Aw," she takes it and bring it to her nose. "I don't know what you did to my usual grumpy boyfriend but...I think I can grow to like you."
"This is for you too." I hand her the case and she opens it.
"Oh my," she gasps then her eyebrows knit together, "I can't wear this! This is like..." she pauses. "..a lot of money."
"You're wearing it." I tell her, I step behind her, gently I swipe the curls to one side. She smells good. I un clip the gold necklace I gave her, catch it then place on the counter. She raises the case to me a little and I take the first diamond line out then put it on her.
"What if I lose this? Or it drops?" I move back around to her pushing the hair back.
"It won't." I go to grab the second line of diamonds that's a bracelet then click it around her wrist. I go into my pocket presenting a black box to her.
"Oh," her mouth drops in a O then she shuts it. "Don't you think it's a little early?" Her eyes find mine before dropping back to the box.
"Relax," my eyes roll then I open it to matching diamond earrings.
"Oh!" She sounds a little too relieved. Now I know what not to ask her any time soon. I start to put the earrings in starting with the left. "You don't have to do all this for me Tamir," I catch her watching me as I move to her last ear, "things like this don't matter to me."
"I know." She's more of and acts of service type of person, I just...give gifts I guess. "You ready?"
"Thank you." The softness of her voice races my heart, I need to leave before my chest explodes or something.
"Hurry if you're not done." I grab the hold necklace then turn. "We do have a reservation." I move back into the room and move towards Kent. "Hold this for her." I hand him the necklace.
"Yes sir."
"I'll wait outside." I reach for the door and leave, I look down at my watch, I've been here for less then ten minutes and already feel as if I'm going to combust. What is wrong with me?!
The night air is warm but not sticky, I'm quite grateful I won't burn waiting for her by my car. She comes back out holding the rose in hand and a bag at her side, Kent is close behind her for safety.
Okay Tamir, I peel off my car straightening my posture, pull yourself together. "Is everything okay?" She stops in front of me.
I consider giving her a blank yes, then recall of my texts and slap I got from it. "Just needed air." I open the door for her.
"Oh okay," she gives me a small smile then get in. I shut it moving around to get in myself. I used my stabilized wrist to drive so my right hand can rest on her thigh. "Does that mean your wrist is getting better? Since you can drive with it?"
"Yes." I glance over at her before going back to the road.
"I'm glad." She says besides me. "I made pastries by the way, gave them to Kent when he came to pick me up, hope you don't mind." I knew she would make something.
"You're making a habit of this,"
"No I'm not!" Her voice goes up an octave. "It's just a nice thing to do. When you were away, I made them brownies-oh my goodness," she gasps, "I am making a this a habit!" I smile over my shoulder. "Lighten up Tamir."
I've missed seeing her genuine side, when she doesn't look at me like she's terrified, the side where she feels comfortable enough to make snarky remakes.
I can't believe I tried to suppress this part of her thinking it would shove her into submission so she wouldn't snitch. I question myself sometimes.
