You lay with Loki in complete silence, just staring into each other's eyes. He smiles at you as he caresses your back, and you caress his chest. And you wish this moment could last forever. To just stay in this perfect little bubble.
"I've missed this...I've missed you" you whisper, trying to be as honest as possible and you feel the blush rush to your cheeks.
He continues to smile but does not say anything. You sigh deeply when you don't hear anything from him and look around.
"How do you know the time when you're in here like this?" You ask him curiously.
"I don't normally need to know the time darling." He answers nonchalantly.
You giggle. "No, I guess you don't and if it was the weekend, I wouldn't either but it's Friday..." you trail off.
Loki raises an eyebrow. "That means nothing princess..."
Oh, there it is, 'princess'. He hasn't called me that in a while. You think to yourself.
"...you can simply say you do not feel well and stay in bed with me." He finishes while he holds you tighter and bringing you closer to him leaving a soft kiss on your forehead.
"That does sound rather tempting, but I have to work." You tell him as you place a soft kiss on his chest in return.
Suddenly, you feel Loki shuffle and start to get up. You watch him walk to the windows as he pulls the curtains back and lets the sun in. For a moment, you are distracted by Loki's body. He's completely naked in front of you and he looks like a freaking GOD, which he is but that's beside the point.
The brightness from the outside pulls your attention and you notice how high the sun is in the sky. You immediately know it's later than you thought. You look over to Loki who is just watching you as you quickly get up scrambling.
"What are you doing?" He asks quickly, walking towards you.
You look around for your robe, "I'm late for work." You say completely panicked.
You see him pick up a pair of pjs bottoms and he quickly slips them on. At least that will be less distracting, you think to yourself as you lick your lips watching him cover up. His voice, however, quickly brings you back from your thoughts.
"Are you sure that is it?" You hear the annoyance in his voice as he continues, "or are you too ashamed to let anyone see you leaving my chambers in such a state?" He points at you up and down, his words dripping with venom.
You flinch, immediately wrapping your arms around your chest, feeling the urge to protect yourself. Forgetting all about having to find your robe.
"You're scaring her. Stop!" You hear him project. It's like he is battling himself.
You knew there had been something going on with him, but you were too scared to ask what it was, you wanted to live in the bliss of happiness you had built around him. Now it seems like it's too late to ask.
You can see the rage in his eyes, you can taste it in the tension that has built up around the both of you. As you both stare at each other, you see not only rage but frustration in his eyes. Then you quickly see a hit of hurt.
Oh, Loki. You think to yourself. You want nothing more than to hold him. But you don't. You stand frozen in place. Your body not responding out of fear. Not of him but of having completely ruined the moment that, not two seconds ago, you would've given anything to stay in.
"Loki, I-" is all you can make yourself say. You want to tell him you're not ashamed. You want to tell him you want nothing more then for everyone to know that he had chosen you.
