Chapter 3: Don't Go

The drive home was long and filled with anxiety.
Li forgot to bring her medications with her to work because she was excited and in a hurry for her first day as director.
Jimin noticed she was nervously fidgedting out of the corner of his eye and reached over to grab her hand.
He laced his fingers within hers and circled the top of her hand.
He kept his eyes on the road, but she could tell he was trying to do all he could to keep her feeling safe.
As they arrived to her house, Li's phone started to ring.
She picked it up hurriedly and was relieved to hear Min's voice on the other end.
"Hey mom. I was just letting you know I'm over at Seo's house. I didn't want you to worry. I tried to call grampa but he isn't answering. "
"It's okay Min, thanks for calling me. Don't be home too late, okay? "
"Okay mom. Love you."
"I love you too son. " she says and then hangs up.
You look over to Jimin and your cheeks turn bright red.
"Sorry about my panic attack, I really appreciate you bringing me home and getting me out of there. " she smiles brightly.
"It's no problem really. People should really mind their own fucking business. "I can't believe he's getting a chance at parole." She sighs as she unbuckles her seat belt.
"You know of all the ones are station has covered, usually when the victim goes to speak, the judge takes that into consideration for the ruling."
Li closes her eyes. She can see Taehyung's twisted smile and and hear his laugh filling your head.
"Are you alright? " Jimin asks touching your shoulder lightly.
"Yea. I'm just worried. Worried for Min. If he gets out on parole, he will go after him. I don't know what I'll do if I lose him. "
"Hey... " Jimin says comfortingly. "We don't even know if he will get out. But if he does, I'm sure your father will do everything he can to keep you safe. And I will too. " he says reassuring her. "Come on let me walk you inside. "
Li nods sheepishly and waits for a moment as Jimin walks around the car to open her side door for her.
They walk up the driveway in silence. As they get closer to the house, Li notices that her fathers car isn't here. He must still be tied up at work.
"Are you sure you're okay? " Jimin asks one more time to be sure before he left.
"Yes. I'm fine. " she smiles at him.
"Then, I'll go first. " he says and as he turns to walk away, Li reached out for his hand.
"Jimin wait... " she says lightly
"Yes, what is it? "
"Don't go. Stay with me please until Min or my father comes back. "
He looks down at her and smiles.
"Okay I will stay with you."
