Stan Vogel x reader
The summer heat glared down at you as you hiked your way through the woods of Kern Canyon National Park.
Your boyfriend, Stan Vogel, was the park ranger and normally you never came to work with him.
You knew Stan loved the wilderness but sitting in a rangers station for hours on end was just not your idea of a fun time.
Neither was hiking in the blistering heat.
Yet you somehow had let him manage to convince you to come out with him for the day.
Stan made his way through the trails quick and effortlessly. You could hear him talk about certain plants and landmarks as you both passed through but his voice was getting further and further. Stan knew these trails better than anyone and he often forgot that.
You tried to keep up with him, dodging branches and everything else that got in your way.
You went to call out for Stan to slow down when you took a misstep.
Your foot got caught in between a tree root that was sticking out from the ground.
As you went tumbling to the ground, your ankle twisted the opposite way.
A sharp pain shot up your leg causing you to let out a cry.
You fell to the dirt ground hard, whimpering in pain.
Stan had heard your first cry and whipped his body around. He soon quickly made his way to you.
"Shit,y/n,you okay?"
His thick accent rang in your ears but the pain in your ankle was all you could focus on.
Stan moved his hand down to your already swollen up ankle. The small gentle touch of his hand felt like needles going through your skin.
You flinched and he quickly jerked his hand away.
"Well love," he said examining your ankle some more "looks as if I'll have to carry you back to the rangers station. You won't be walking on that anytime soon."
"Thanks, captain obvious."
You said already beginning to get frustrated from the excruciating amount of pain you were in.
Stan, who was also very fluent in sarcasm, smirked down at you.
"Or I could leave you here for these feral beast to take you back?''
You watched in annoyance as he chewed his gum and cocked an eyebrow up.
You rolled your eyes and lifted your arms up helplessly.
"Please carry me back?"
With a swift motion,Stan held you in his arms bridal style.
"That's what us park rangers do."
He beamed proudly yet sarcastically.
It was enough to make you roll your eyes once again and let him carry you back to the rangers station.Once you made it back to the station,Stan laid you down on the couch.
He gently laid your foot on the arm rest and sat a pillow behind your neck to get you comfortable.
Despite his appearance and the way he acted to the hikers that wandered through,Stan had a soft spot when it came to you.
"Just relax right there and keep this ice pack on it to get the swelling down."
You looked down at your ankle then over towards Stan.
You smiled as you admired him
"Thank you for helping with my ankle," you finally spoke up "I really do appreciate it."
Stan looked over and returned the smile.
He walked over to you and placed a kiss on the top of your head.
You smiled from it and looked up at the smiling park ranger
"No need to thank me,my love. I would do anything for you."———
The ending sucks but I have writers block extremely bad but Cody Fern as Stan is literally the only thing that has been on my mind so I wanted to write something before my whole mind went blank
