"I wish you were there, sweetie. But, you had fun naman here, right?" tanong ni Mommy habang hawak-hawak ang kubyertos sabay nakatingin sa akin.
It's like a fairytale. Thank you so much, Mom and Daddy!" tumayo na ako at gaya nung dati ay may kasamang galaw ang mga kwento ko. I tried my best to hide my voice. They can't seem to notice but in the middle part of the story telling, my eyes were in tears, ngunit sinarili ko nalang din.
"And then, Aeolus made a promise to court me! Really, dad? You're allowing him?" I almost fell from my seat as his eyes observed me and my state well.
"He's a good man. That's enough for me to trust him, right?" he asked in such assurance. I nodded.
How is he? Is he coping well? geeze, cut it. He's not doing well for sure, he's just hiding bits of his emotions up to the darkest depths of his lost soul.
"Mom, why not join me? I will have a spa day tomorrow, bring Tita Abenzuella." I scratched my arms with my nails as I said those words with great nervousness.
Kinakabahan ako na baka mahalata nila lahat. Kaya ko 'to. I was used for holding up things, including myself.
"Yes! You deserve it, but I also deserve it too!" she deliberately said and clapped her hands as if it's the most genius idea.
"What about me?" tanong ni Chandise habang nakataas ang kilay.
"Ay wow, sumasapaw ka 'teh?" I teased her with great mockery plastered in my mouth.
"Ang daya naman!" she whined like a cry baby and I only rolled my eyes.
"Unfair? Gusto mo ba ako naman ang magreklamo? You guys went to Tagaytay without me. So if we were to switch our shoes, who's more unfair?" with annoyance in my eyes, I said those words.
"Fine." she answered while holding her bag and stormed out of the dining room.
"That was rude, never do that again, Isariell." munting ani ni Daddy sabay bitaw sa kutsara at tinidor niyang kani-kanina lang ay hawak-hawak niya.
"Well, I need to go. Ako na bahala maghatid kay Enzo. Bye, Mom and Dad." I said coolly, not making eye contact with him as I grabbed Enzo's bag and motioned him to just follow the car that Momita bought. He just said yes and quietly escaped the trembling phase of the dining.
"Isariell," tawag niya sa akin sa kalagitnaan ng traffic.
"Hmm?"
"Please, don't pretend when you're with me. It feels heart wrenching." his voice was almost a whisper, he rubbed the part of his ears that's red after that.
We don't get along, but he's the most decent one in our household.
"Stop with your stares, it's embarrassing." a muscle in his jaw twitched as he played his little rubik's cube.
"Yieee! Aminin mo na kasi, importante sa buhay mo ang pinaka-maganda mong kapatid? Diba?" I punched the hair out of teasing him . . . which is effective, by the way.
"Ayan ka na naman. When will you stop using a facade? You're not happy, you almost lost a tear. Stop using corny jokes to appeal that you're happy." he squeezed his eyes shut and I was fighting back with my tears.
"You look awful, it's ok you can cry." It was a redlight, so he got the chance to hug me like a little comfort in my peace.
