Despite what people think about his relationship with Jeff, Liu doesn't hate him. He knew something was wrong with him and that eventually something would happen. He forgave him since he knew it wasn't Jeff's fault.
Their relationship is still rocky though, but if someone does something to one of them they won't hesitate to back their brother up.
