There was a power outage at the mansion once. LJ screamed so loud that everyone thought a banshee was in the mansion. A good chunk of the candles in the mansion went to LJ's room.
Since the incident, Sin & Slender put an enchantment on his room so that if the power were to go out then the candles will light themselves. There's also always two flashlights in his room.
