"Matt will be well taken care of. I can promise you that." Max says wrapping me into a hug.

"Thank you." I mutter into his shoulder.

"Let's hurry this up. We don't have all day Valarie. Say your goodbyes, and get your ass onto the boat." Henry says as he walks past, carrying more luggage onto the boat.

I glare at his back as Matt pulls on my hand, making me fall back into him. He wraps his hand around me so he is holding onto my stomach. A small grin making its way to my face, as he kisses my cheek.

"I'm going to miss you." I whisper, turning my head towards him.

"I am going to miss you more." He says capturing my lips with his.

I turn in his arms, so I am facing him. I battle for dominance over the kiss, but he eventually wins the battle. He kisses me like it is the last time he will ever kiss me, or hold me in his arms again. We only pull apart from each other when we run out of air.

"See you in three months." I tell him, taking a step away from him.

I keep walking backwards until my feet hit the rail leading to the boat. He waved his hand at me, and I wave mine back giving him one last smile before turning around and walking up the rail. The moment my feet touch the boat I walk to the side abs lean over. Matt waves at me once more, and I wave back.

"Check your bag!" He shouts as the boat starts moving. "Stay safe Valarie!"

"I never thought you and Matt would wind up together." Henry mutters.

"Neither did I."

"I am happy for you. You deserve to have someone... someone better than me." he stares off in the distance a sad small smile appearing. "If I hadn't treated you so badly maybe we would have made it. Maybe we wouldn't have to act like we are in love."

"If you had treated me better Matt and I would never had met. We both thank you for being an ass." I tell him walking away.

I don't want to hear how sorry he is now. If you don't want to appreciate a good thing while you have it, then don't come complaining to me about it.

"Don't be too hard on him." Matthew tells me stepping out of the shadows. "He did the best he could do-"

"No he didn't. Don't make excuses for him." I shove past the creep and go below deck towards my cabin.

Two weeks. I was going to be stuck on this damn boat with these idiots for two weeks.

"Are you going to tell me where the competition is being held now?" I ask putting my feet up onto the table. "Or are you going to start keeping secrets about this too?"

Henry glowers at me, not liking where I am going with this conversation. He cuts into his steak and ignores my little comment by turning towards Gabby. "Did you contact your sister?"

"Yeah, she will be at the competition." she answers avoiding his stare.

"Wonderful. I thought the reason for her-"

"She is allowed to live her life Henry. I am not going to tell her what she is supposed to do and where she is allowed to go. Or what she is going to wear."

"Maybe you should. Then we wouldn't-" he starts until Gabby cuts him off.

"No I shouldn't. The only person her actions cause problems for is you. That's the only reason you care."

I watch the two bicker back and forth, taking another bite of my salad. Matthew glares at the food in front of him, turning a piece of lettuce over. He is clearly uncomfortable by the tension in the room.

"That's not true." Henry states.

"If you cared about her you would have talked to her before she left. You would have explained things to her. Instead you repeated the same mistake with Valarie." Gabby shoves away from the table storming towards her cabin.

"Elenore has gotten in the way of two relationships. Maybe its time you learn your lesson and get rid of her." I tell him, getting up myself.

He looks up at me broken, but doesn't say anything. He hangs his head as I leave the room. I may not have gotten the answers I wanted, but I got an answer one way or another.

****

"I got rid of her. I already told you." Henry says joining me at the railing. "I realized too late who she really is."

"Henry, we all may want to blame Elenore for everything going wrong, and she may have had a large hand in everything. But at the end of the day you cant ignore the fact that you were the one who cheated on her with me. You knew Elenore was still in the picture and you still wanted to start a relationship with me."

"I-"

"And I may not know the specifics about what happened with you and Gabby's sister, but I have a feeling you did something wrong, and instead of explaining to her why you did what you did. You blew up on her, and blamed everyone else for the problem instead of taking credit for the problems you created."

"No secrets remember?" He blurts out.

"Yeah, what about it?"

"When I promised that to you I knew I was wrong. I knew that I shouldn't have told you that, because..."

"Because you knew you were lying?" I supply.

"Because you aren't the person I promised that too originally. I just wanted to... You remind me of her so much. I thought if I recreated certain moments that you could replace her."

"Then why don't you fix things when you see her again?"

"She wont listen to me." he shakes his head.

"Listen, if she loved you as much as you love her, then she will."

He sighs as he walks away, and I continue to stare at the ocean. I know where we are going, and the thought sends shivers down my spine. There were two places that I dared not to go. One of them was the landet med blod (the land of blood) and the other was dødens land (the land of death). I knew we werent heading for landet med blod, that kingdom was untouchable. Anyone who tried to go near that kingdom winded up dead. Unless you were at the competition which they competed in ironically eniugh. So that left dodens land. That was the only place everyone would avoid talking about. That was the only kingdom the Queen herself would avoid.
