Aquarium

So excited for our date :) x

I smiled at the text message from Hayes. i was heading off to our first date together and I was actually looking really forward to it since he was taking us to the aquarium. He knew that i've always like fish since I told him about my five at home and how my granddad and I used to go on a lot of fishing trips when I was younger.

However, I knew these would be totally different fish altogether and I couldn't wait to see them. I've always wanted to go to an island with tropical waters so I could see all the marine fish like clown fish. They were favourite since I was a child because that was type nemo was and that used to be my favourite film.

Thinking about it, I found it hard to believe that Hayes had come up with all of this and actually taken me into consideration instead of just taking me someplace cliche like the park.

As I approached the aquarium, I sent Hayes a text to say I had arrived:

Hey, me neither! I'm here now so where are we meeting? x

He replied almost instantly:

just round the corner of the entrance x

I sent back a simple 'ok x' and headed to where he mentioned.

When I got there, I saw Hayes standing looking at his phone. I called him and he looked up, grinning brightly when realizing it was me.

"Hey beautiful," he told me and I giggled in response.

"Hi to you too," I replied, reaching for his hand. He held it and smiled at my action.

"so where would you like to go first Abby?" he asked.

"I don't really know, can we just make our way around?" I asked him and he nodded, leading the way.

He gave the man the tickets he had bought for himself and I. The man nodded and let us through to the first part: the baby sharks.

I marvelled at them in wonder, admiring how they moved and just taking in every part of them. I thought they were the most amazing looking thing in the room until I saw Hayes standing next to me. He was smiling as one of the baby sharks swam up to him and bumped against the screen. He mumbled, 'whoa awesome.' I laughed quietly and watched as he noticed me looking. He immediately began blushing and smiled, his eyes sparkling and dimples making a much-wanted appearance.

After the baby sharks, we went around following everybody else and each time I was more amazed at the fish than in the last part. The jellyfish caught my attention and I must have spent around half an hour just looking at them. But Hayes was patient and looked at them with me, arm around my waist and I wasn't really aware of him until I felt his breath on my neck and I realized he had been pulling me closer.

After our long visit, he told me to wait outside whilst he went and got my surprise. After ten minutes, he appeared with a fish. But not any fish. A clown fish.

"This is for you. I know how much you like them and I probably like you more than you like them. I just wanted to say thanks for today and for being awesomely beautiful," he said. I ran over to him, grabbing the bag, which held the fish, out of his hand and pulling him into a tight hug. With my spare hand, I held the side of his face and kissed him softly of the lips.

"thank you Hayes, thank you so much. I couldn't ask for anyone better," I exclaimed.

"Well, Abby would you like to be my girlfriend?" he asked, looking nervous but I just laughed and nodded quickly.

"Oh good, I don't know what I would have done if you had said no. I probably would have cried."

I laughed once more and pulled him in for a longer kiss.
