Chapter 2

~A Good While Ago~

Gilan looked up at Halt, a look of confusion passing over his face.

"Is this a sack?" He asked, disbelief creeping into his voice.

"Of course not." Halt replied.

"It looks like a sack." Gilan pressed, beginning to get worried.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Halt replied again, his tone indicating that Gilan should just drop it.

Gilan had no intention of doing so. "It feels like a sack."

"You'll get used to it." Halt said, starting to sound uneasy.

Gilan brought the 'cloak' up to his nose, before quickly removing it. "It smells like a sack!"

Halt was about to reply, before finally deciding against it. "Look, the budget's been a little messy this year, and we've had to prioritise"

Gilan felt his disbelief turn to shock before finally turning to resignation. He flung the sack over his shoulders and sighed. "Where do we start?"
