Harry's POV:

It's 4 pm on a Sunday and I'm sat at home trying to get things ready for my new years eve party. Skylar said it would be a great idea and I agreed. She left to go get more things that we needed just a little bit ago but it shouldn't take her too long. Skylar can be very stubborn so it took a lot of convincing to get her to go. Skylar is my best friend, I met her back in 2015 when she was 19. Kiara is the reason I met my best friend. Kiara and I have mutual friends. She introduced me to Sky and the rest is history.

I'm wandering around my house like a lost puppy waiting for Skylar to get back to tell me what to do. I'm not super good with planning like she is. Leave it to Skylar to plan the best parties. My mind is all over the place trying to figure out what I should do. I need a breather, we've been at this since 10. I decide to do what always calms me down when my mind is crazy. I find the piano. I sit down and place my fingers on the keys. As soon as I start to play I feel my mind start to ease. This has always helped me. I tend to always have a lot on my mind.

As I start to slow down my playing my phone starts to ring

As I start to slow down my playing my phone starts to ring. I check my phone to see if it's Skylar but it's not, it's Niall. Niall and I are still pretty close. We don't see each other much but we talk often. I quickly answer the phone since I haven't heard from him in a bit.

"Hey I wasn't sure if you were busy." Is the first thing Niall says through the phone.

"No, not busy at the moment. Is everything okay?" I say while staring at the piano keys.

"I'm okay I guess..." he pauses before he starts talking again. "I actually wanted to play you part of what I wrote today to see what you think"

"Go for it, I'm all ears."

I can hear him moving around probably grabbing a guitar. I enjoy hearing what Niall writes. Niall talks to me but not about everything. I know he's been going through some shit lately and I should probably talk to him more to check-in. I snap out of my thoughts once he starts to sing.

"Dear patience, if I pour my heart out, can you keep a promise? 'Cause the situation, is like a mountain that's been weighing on my conscience. If I'm being honest."

"Feels like you don't even know me. Just me and the stars can get lonely."

He stops playing showing that he doesn't want me to hear it all yet. I know it's gonna be great. Niall is an amazing song writer. I always enjoyed watching him write music and pour his heart into it.

"Concept is talking to patience as if it's a person?" I ask trying to connect the dots.

"Exactly, that's what I'm going for anyway." He says through the phone.

"Heartbreak also makes great music." I tell him trying to ease his mood.

"I can't think straight. I'm over dating what good has it done for me? Sorry I don't usually talk about this stuff." He says suddenly nervous and clearing his throat.
