Chapter 11

January 10, 2019

Niall's POV:

I've been staring at Skylar's contact for days wondering what she's been up to. This is weird isn't it? I can't stop thinking about her no matter how much I want to. These thoughts are scary. I'm pacing back and forth in my bedroom trying to figure out what to do. I've been writing songs about a woman I barely know. What is wrong with me? I lay my phone down and start to walk away. I turn back around feeling defeated, also annoyed with myself.

I stare at the phone on my bed as if I'm waiting for it to speak to me telling me what to do. My thoughts have gotten so bad at this point I'm talking to myself out loud as I pace my room.

"Come on Horan you can do it. Just click her bloody name and call her." I speak out to myself. I shake my head and laugh at myself. Why the hell am I even overthinking? Fuck it. I grab the phone and call Skylar. It rings three times before she picks up.

"Hello?" I hear her voice come through my phone. Fuck I forgot this is just a random number calling her because I never gave her mine.

"Skylar?" I ask to make sure it's her. I did piss her off that day. She could have given me a totally different number. I could see her doing that honestly. I smile as I think about it. That could be funny.

"You finally grew some balls Horan?" She says and I laugh to myself at the fact she knew it was me.

"How'd you know it was me?" I ask just being curious, ignoring the growing balls part.

"The Irish accent kinda gave you away." She laughs and now I feel like an idiot. Duh, Niall you fucking dumb ass.

"May I ask why you made me pause my Harry Potter marathon?" She speaks in a sassy tone.

"I want you to go somewhere with me." I say to her hoping she says yes.

"You want me to stop my Harry Potter marathon for you?" She gasps and I shake my head even though she can't see me.

"Harry Potter can wait. I'm headed there now." I say not giving her the option to say no.

"You didn't even let me answer." She laughs again and it sounds so pure.

"I answered for you. I'll be there in 30." I say smirking to myself.

"Whatever you say Horan." She says and I feel like she's smiling right now. I hope she is anyway.

"See you soon." I say and once she responds saying okay, I hang up the phone.

I make my way downstairs grabbing my keys and guitar heading out the door. I play music on my drive there tapping the steering wheel out of habit. I eventually arrive to Harry's and park my car. I make my way up and the door opens before I can even knock.

Skylar stands in front of me wearing a black jacket, white top and blue jeans. Her long blonde hair hangs down her back and looks so soft. She's wearing white converse with blue laces. She notices me smile and shuts the door moving in front of me.

"What's the plan Horan?" She asks crossing her arms over her chest.

"Beach, I wanna listen to the waves crash. It's peaceful and maybe I can get you to talk to me." I smirk walking towards my car.

"What if I don't want to talk?" She smirks at me as I walk backwards.

"Then we will just sit in awkward silence." I shrug and she smiles at me. I pull my keys out of my pocket. "You're driving." I say tossing the keys to her. The keys land in her hands and she stops walking. Her smile fades as she stares at them.
