The Challenge

Author's POV

Thomas - WOW, what a high-pitched voice...my ears, ouch, who is it and did she say Evaaaaa?! As in short for Evangeline, but she is the princess why would a normal cit...Oh I forgot some underwaters are richer than the ROYAL FAMILY.

Evangeline - oh hiiiee Allie, been a while hasn't it? 

Allie - OMG YESSSSS, THE LAST TIME I SAW YOU WAS DURING OUT GRADUATION, HOW'VE YOU BEEN DARLING?

Thomas - *mind* oh she must be her high school friend, BUT WHY IS SHE SCREAMING? Or have my hearing abilities increased all of a sudden?!

Allie - who is this Eva? I have never seen him here before, is he from Pacifia or Atlantia?

Evangeline - oh this is....umm...ehhh...

Evangeline and Thomas stared at one another not knowing what to say.

Thomas - Thomas, my name is Thomas Ashton and I am a guest at the royal palace Miss loudspeaker *mind* omg did I just say that out loud, STUPID STUPID STUPID. I mean--

Allie - Oh, okay well hi there I am Allie Navblu, one of the daughters of the Navblu noble family. And I get called that a lot, but I am only like that around Eva, the one person I can be myself with.

Thomas - I'm sorry I know how it feels to not be able to be yourself, in fact, I am still searching for that person where I can just be me. 

Allie - apology accepted

You must be wondering what Eva was doing all this time right? well... she was just buying a whole lot of FOOD and stuffing her face.

Allie and Thomas - STOP EATING 

Eva - O_O -_- O_O I'm sowwy, I jwut wuf eafing tis wuumy fooo

Allie and Thomas - Don't chew and talk at the same time!

30 minutes later

After the food fest, the three of them went to an empty place, a deep blue ocean as far as the eye can see. But soon after Allie blew the shell, multiple different sea creatures came flooding in. Thomas was curious at first as to why they came here, turns out it was time for the challenge that Eva accepted. Yes, that's right the " I bet I can do all that in 10 mins max". This line kept echoing as Thomas stood there in a daze.

Thomas - *mind* Great Thomas, you just said anything without thinking twice, AGAIN.

Eva - Let's start!

Thomas - now?! O_o. No demonstration or guide or rules?

Eva - Non non, I will be demonstrating, how many ever times you need me to*smirk*

Thomas - Oh it is on and don't worry, you just need to show me twice.

Allie - Are you sure? Eva here needed at least 10--

Eva - HEY! *cough* *cough* Should we start? Better be attentive.

Thomas POV

Eva's MizuDobutsu (literally water animal) was a dolphin, suits her, she climbed onto the dolphin and they both smoothly cut through the waves and dived perfectly. Even underwater they were strong. She named the dolphin Blu cuz he was the bluest of his batch and he is quite young too. I was just standing there and admired their coordination, sometimes Blu would throw Eva in the air and she would do a twirl and gently land on his back again. 

Eva - and that's two, did you get all that?

Thomas - Yes of course *mind* really? did I, I was captivated by her graceful moves, well no turning back now.

I had to first choose a MizuDobutsu, actually, it was supposed to choose me. The range was quite broad to choose from, sharks - scary so a hard pass, dolphins - cute but I think I'm a bit too big and heavy for them, whales - wow, it's like the tank of the ocean but I wouldn't get speed, Manta ray, now that's cool they have speed and can maintain a low profile plus the sting as a weapon, though I hope I won't need to use it EVER. Eels? Too narrow and small for me.

Eva - have you decided? what's taking so long?

Thomas - yeah yeah 

Just then I saw the most magnificent creature, an orca! Hey Eva can I take that one? 

Eva - an orca, they are quite difficult to handle cuz they are quite cunning and that one looks about our age, also that's not...from our domain... Wait!

Thomas - DON'T CARE, I will manage.

Author's POV 

Without listening to the last words Eva said, Thomas rushed towards the orca and touched its fin. The orca turned and noticed Thomas trying to climb its back, it suddenly gave a jerk and sent Thomas whirling far away. 

Eva - THOMAS! Blu come!

Allie - No wait! Look!

Eva - huh?

Eva turned to look at Thomas and saw that the orca was not going away from him but towards him. As Thomas tried to regain his balance, it was already too late to notice, the orca made him spin again and again until it finally calmed down. Eva and Allie found this quite strange because the MizuDobutsu would usually not bother once it has attacked which is a clear sign that it does not want to become close with the person.
