Back to the present

Eva and Thomas were disgusted and horrified at what they just heard from Ajax, while Ajax was furious about something.

Ajax *vexed* - Sadly, mine and the princess' fates were not matched in the next life. It was still the two of you! *charges at Thomas*

Thomas - Eva get back! *Thomas counters his attack* It looks like you still couldn't connect your fates huh? *pushes Ajax towards the wall with his magical sword*

Ajax *irritated* - *cough* *cough* That's right, I made a mistake in my first life and the second. But then, I asked him. And he told me what I was doing wrong. I had to kill only the princess and myself, not her fated one! *casts a dark spell*

Thomas - *repels the spell but gets blinded by the smoke* You not only failed in your 1st and 2nd life but also every other that followed till the recent one, because I always died first! *Eva screams* Eva!

Ajax *smirk* - That's correct, I am impressed Crown Prince Clovis but too bad, it's too late, this time I will do it right *points the sword at Eva who was disarmed and on the floor* 

As the blade was approaching Eva, something shone in the distance causing Ajax to halt for a second. After recovering from the sudden flash Ajax continues *slash*...

Ajax *blurry vision* - Yes! I've finally don-*coughs blood* What's this, what happened...

Thomas *coughs blood* - missed again...you...you will never get Eva...not...not in this life or any other...

Ajax *wincing in pain and falls on his knees* - You...you wretch! *laughs* Kill me! That's fine, I will just get another chance in my next life *tries to pull his blade out* huh?

Thomas and Ajax had pierced one another and were on their knees. Thomas didn't pull his sword out nor did he let Ajax pull his blade out.  

Thomas *smirks* - ha, I thought this blade was special, looks like you aren't going to get another chance. This time it's only me and you, buddy.

Eva - Thomas...Thomas! No!No!. Please, you promised to stay with me this time!

Thomas *blurry vision* - I am sorry Eva, I won't be able to keep our promise this time either...

*Main door opens and the Kings and guards barge in*

Kings - Thomas! Eva!

The two Kings freeze as they witness the sight in front of them, their expressions changing from rage to despair.

Thomas *whispers* - Eva...I am sorry...but I will make sure this guy never bothers you ever again*looks at Ajax's lifeless body*

Eva *bursting in tears* - no! I don't care about that! If you are with me then we can take care of it, why did you have to do this again?!

Thomas *whispers* - shu...I do care, I care about you, I love you, Eva...I finally got to say it...

Eva - you can keep saying it, just live Thomas!

Thomas *whispers* - No, I can't not this way...this was the only way...you see Eva...I do not belong here...we aren't from the same world...*starts glowing* looks like it's time...

Eva - noooo, this is...

Thomas *starts to fade away* - if there is another life...another chance I get with you...I will take it for sure and I will stay by your side then... so, for now, please live on...until we meet again...

Thomas and Ajax fade away and all that is left behind is the bright sword and the dark blade. The Kings fall to their knees in defeat while being unable to fathom how could they let the past repeat itself. Eva kept weeping until she collapsed from exhaustion.

In another realm 

Thomas *slowly opens his eyes* - ugh, where am I? 

(...) - you've had too many chances and you've failed them all. This was your last chance...goodbye

Ajax *glowing* - no wait! No, this wasn't, you did not tell me this was the last, it's because of him, isn't it?! *disappearing* No, no, please just ano-*vanishes*

 Thomas - What?! What was that?! Who's voice was that?

(...) - well, hello there, Thomas Ashton

Thomas turns around and sees a figure covered in a black cloak and a scythe with a silvery-white blade and grey snath. 

Thomas *epiphany strikes* - you're him, you're the one who...
