I started my day like any other, I got up and ready for school and headed downstairs to start breakfast. By this time it was about 7:45am and my mum should be getting up. I hear footsteps come down from behind me and I turn to see it's my younger sister Vada.
D- how'd you sleep last night??
V- all right I guess, i had that nightmare again though but other then that it was fine.
I gave her a small smile and placed her breakfast down in front of her. Ever since dad died Vada has been having the same nightmare every night, she was in the car with him when it flipped over but she survived. The accident took a big toll on our mother too she hasn't been the same, she has no motivation and lost her job so I have been taking care of us.
D- they'll stop soon! Just remember what doctor Ram told you and you'll be fine.
My words seemed to ease her fear a little but I knew it didn't fix anything. As we ate our breakfast I heard a faint voice call my name, I got up and walked to the room just next to the kitchen. My mum was awake and she was asking for her pain killers. I grabbed them from her side table and gave her two blue pills, a red one and a little white one. As she took them I looked over at the clock which read 8:05am. I jumped up and kissed my mum on the cheek and said I'd see her when I got home. As I walked into the kitchen my sister threw me my bag and we left for school.
We don't catch the bus since we live only a couple of blocks from school, and I didn't mind it because I meet up with my friends and we go together.
V- I'm meeting up with Sandra to walk to school so I'll see you there!
D- alright, and you better not be late again V! Your on your last warning.
My voice trailed off as she ran further away. I kept walking when I heard a familiar voice call out from in front of me, I look up to see Mouth waving me down near a big tree.
