Fp dropped her off that morning, bought her breakfast, carried her suit case, spent anytime he could making her smile, her smile was radiant, her smile made him smile, her laugh made him laugh ,it was something about her, the way she looked, the way she moved.

When she left for her plane, he felt an emptiness, it felt like something was missing, someone was missing. His Ali.

She'd been kind to him, gentle. She'd admitted her feelings. Her feelings to him, about him.

He knew he didn't have her fully yet, she wasn't his girlfriend, she wasn't in his arms, he wasn't holding her. But he had one thing, her heart.

He'd decided he'd have the girls on the Friday at Alice's, then Saturday and Sunday he decided his mum would have the girls so he could spend some time, on his own, to reflect, to think.

He spent the first day without her with his girls, at the park, playing having fun. In the garden, eating picnic food, he cuddled up with his girls, watched movies, had pops, went to the farm. He cooked them a dinner using what Alice had left, he tucked them into bed that night, kissed them both.

He had never spent so much time with them in one day, he had enjoyed it, but he couldn't wipe her from his mind, laying beside the cot in the spare room he huffed, standing up walking slowly out of the room, towards Alice's.

He opened the door slowly, her sweet aroma hitting his nose, her clothes on the floor in a neat pile. He smiled to himself, he couldn't remove himself from the room, her bed hadn't been made, calling his name even more. He found himself beside her bed, sitting in the spot she slept, resting his back he shifted his body fully onto the mattress, when his head hit her pillow the feeling of content hit him, the feeling of comfort. Her smell bought comfort to him.

He pulled the duvet over his body, her smell overtook him. A moan pursuing his lips. He felt lie he was at home within the cocoon of her covers.

The next morning he had taken his children, bought them a pops dinner, he kissed them, he held them, took them to the cinema. He spent half of the day with them before taking them to his mother, returning back to Alice's he smiled, looking around taking in the surroundings.

He jumped as his phone began to ring,

"Al"He smiled, her sweet voice a melody to his ears.

"Hey, you okay"She on the otherside of the phone sat in her jogging bottoms and shirt, twirling her hair around her fingers. Sitting watching the nature, the birds, trees, the river. The horses, the sheep, the pigs, the beauty of the surroundings at her birth home.

"I'm okay Al, anyway since you called there is a party next Saturday at the pub, i'd love it if you came, Sofie and Lily will be with my mum as weekend is there, Lil hates staying with me so"His toned softened remembering the fear he and Gladys had causes with the fighting. The violence. Lily preferred being with Fp's mum, she felt safer and of course Rose didn't mind as such to having the girl.

"don't be sad Fp, of course i will come, i decided i will drop the on call side of my job and focus mainly on child phycology , i need to be in the hospital on Wednesdays but otherwise its just clients via zoom and sometimes visits"He smiled not like she could see, stroking the cat who laid upon his lap and Sky who had her head between his legs.

"That sounds more like My Al,it helps me, knowing although we aren't together we are spoken for by one another, knowing you are mine makes me smile every night, i don't know how i managed to get you"He chuckled gently.

"Don't put yourself down Fp, anyway i best get off are you still okay getting me from the airport around 1 on Monday"He nodded to himself before making his answer vocalised.

"Of course, anyway, it was lovely hearing your Voice Ali"He ended the call and wide smile perched upon his lips.

The next days went quickly, he worked at the bar, took the girls for food, to the park, swam in Alice's pool, walked the dog. He spent most time with young Sofie, Lily closer to her nana still but their bond was rebuilding he had alot to make up for.

When monday finally came he whizzed around like a whippet clearing up making sure it was all perfect, he'd restocked the fridge, walked the dogs cleared the garden and made her bed, everything was ready for her.

He'd even left a fresh bunch of red and white roses on the table with a box of her favourite chocolates.

He'd never cared so deeply, for any woman the way he cared for her, the way he cherished her. He valued the ground she walked upon.

His nerves beating his skin as he stood there, in jeans and a white polo. Her flight had arrived 13 minutes before she'd be going through security and customs now.

His heart skipped a beat and the corners of his mouth peaked seeing her, grey leggings, trainers and a hoodie he could swear was his. her hair down bouncing as the walked.

She saw him and squealed, she'd missed him, his company. She found herself walking faster and faster until she launched into his arms unexpectedly.

The aroma of her hair and sweet perfume making him feel at home with her in his arms.

"Hey beautiful"He chuckled as she kissed his cheek.

"I missed you"When her beautiful sparkling eyes looked up into his all he could do was move his hands to her face, cupping it. He leant down enclosing her lips with his own, gently. Softly he pulled away stroking the side of her rosy pink lip.

"I missed you too."He grabbed the suitcase in one hand her hand in the other, both planted with huge smiles.
