Chapter 38 - curiosities

Apologises for the huge delay. I will be uploading the next chapter (marichat) either tomorrow or the day after to make it up to you guys. This chapter is more of a filler since I have had 0 motivation and have been extremely busy with dealing with family business and actually taking breaks since I'm currently in my summer holidays. Anyways enjoy this filler chapter... the more interesting chapters will be back soon <3

'Psst Adrien' a little voice mumbled.

'Adrien'

'Mmmm' Adrien groaned sleepily.

'We need to talk' the voice said sternly.

The tired expressions on the blonde boy's face quickly changed to match the more awakened person's energy.

Adrien reached over to his lamp which was placed vertically on his wall next to the bed. He switched the lamp on to discover nobody was in his room.

He chose to give in to his curiosity and get out of bed to find what had so clearly spoken to him. He searched his wardrobe then his cupboards. He searched under his bed and behind his curtains. No sign of life was present within the walls of his bedroom.

Adrien huffed tiredly unable to settle his curiosities and questions. He sat down and looked over at his little friend who was curled up into a ball by his pillow.

"It was rather entertaining watching you look for me so frantically, Watching your patience stretch and seeing your desires to discover the unknown slowly disintegrate. I'm not a person. I'm not an evil spirit. Im simply a creature taken prisoner to my curiosities... just like you. Luckily fate has allowed me to question you and decipher the actions you have taken, so Adrien Agreste. If you know ladybug's identity. Why can't she know yours?" The little red hug stated very formally and straight forwardly.

Adrien met eyes with the stern red bug's and gulped in slight fear.

Tikki was known to be a happy and Bubbily sort of person and to see this unfamiliar character appear during the night was quite unsettling.

"Sorry i uh actually didn't really expect you to be here at this time and I know my actions are very questionable since Marinette trusts me and I should've just told her who I really am, but something somehow is stopping me... I can't really explain it. I want her to fall in love with both sides of me, like how I fell in love with both sides of her. I was too blind and oblivious to understand the fact ladybug and Marinette share very similar qualities and I am very ashamed I couldn't put two and two together and realise they were the same person. But if you can understand why I'm not being truthful in the slightest then please let me figure out a way to come completely clean' Adrien replied confidently.

By the hesitant look upon tikki's face, Adrien could tell he had her on side.

Tikki looked down for a second. A deep, thoughtful look spread across her face. When she came to the obvious decision she shook off this formal act and replied quite cheerfully 'I can't keep this serious act on for too long. Your reasoning is completely fine. I care so much for Marinette as I've shown and was doubting whether or not you had other motives with her-'

'I would never want to use or take advantage of her. Even before I saw through my blindness I still admired and respected her so much. She's been an amazing person in my life and I just want to make it clear I wouldn't want to tamper with her emotions or upset her in any way' Adrien stated firmly.

In response tikki gave the tired blonde boy a warm smile and said 'even through all the shit you have to deal with on a day to day bases, you still remain good. Don't change Adrien.'

'I won't' Adrien smiled back 'do you think I should spend more time with her as my alter ego?' Adrien asked with uncertainty.

Tikki rolled her eyes at the remaining stupidity within the blonde boy's brain.

'You literally said a few minutes ago you would like Marinette to fall in love with both sides of you... how can she possibly figure out or fall for both sides of you if chatnoir never shows?' Tikki smiled with a smirk.

   

Adrien slapped his head, whilst falling quite frantically into the "dumb blonde" category.

'Don't blame my stupidity right now, you disturbed my sleep ' Adrien smiled back smugly.

'Even with many hours of sleep you still remain a dense boy.' Tikki replied wittily, 'anyways I suggest you take my conversation with you as a hint to get off of your ass and do something about this. Sort it out agreste. I have faith in you'

Adrien nodded and smiled tiredly as he watched the little red bug dissolve through the walls assuming that she was returning to the company of his lover. He envied how easy it was for tikki to just return to his girl and spend the majority of her time with Marinette. He glanced over at his little cat friend who was still snuggled under the covers and sat on Adrien's pillow.

Adrien guilty poked the little kwami and sheepishly called out his transformation charm.

'Sorry Plagg, I promise you a box of cheese for disturbing your peacefulness' Chatnoir spoke out sheepishly.

Chatnoir took his time slowly and quietly climbing out of his bedroom window and used his baton to reach the roof of the university. He only had to walk a few metres on the roof until he draped his body carefully onto Marinette's window sill.

He tried to see through the blinds but no luck was given. He gently tapped on the window in hope for a response. He waited patiently for his lady's answer, in hopes he could regain a strong relationship between the cat and the young lady.
