Chapter 22

Salem's POV
I watched as Luis smiled deviously. "You know? That's not a bad idea. I never thought about that" he said. He stood up and walked into the kitchen. I heard him talking to someone. Is someone here? I looked up and he was already on the phone. Damn. That was fast. I'm gonna hope I don't get in trouble. I mean it was my idea. Hopefully my mom doesn't get mad. But seeing my mom with Luis might be nice. She can be happy. That's all I want. If my mom is happy then I am too.

Luis came sit back down by me. "So I called one of my friends to make it seem like I was cheating on my wife with him" he said. Oh shit. "So um am I gonna get in trouble for this?" I asked worriedly. He shook his head. "If anything I'm gonna congratulate you. So Uh here" he said reaching into his pocket. He handed me two $20 bills. "Um I'm fine. I have a job" I said. I mean I can't just take money from someone. I know he offered it but it just feels soo wrong. "No I insist" he said putting it in my hands. Fuck what do I do? All of a sudden the doorbell rang.

"Alright do you mind taking Autumn upstairs? It doesn't matter what room. I just don't want to scare her because there's gonna be a lot of screaming" Luis said. I nodded. I walked to the table where Autumn was. "Hey Autumn do you mind if we go to your room? I didn't get to see it. I bet it's really pretty" I said. I was trying to take a nice approach. "YEA! Come see" she said happily. She grabbed my hand and brought me upstairs. She brought me to one of the rooms with pink walls. I like this.

Me and Autumn were in her room. We were playing with her stuffed animals. There were soo many. "Hey Salem. Is your mom nice?" Autumn asked randomly. I gave a confused chuckle and asked "Uh yea. She's really nice. Why?" "Well my dad told me that she was nice. He has a picture of her in his truck" she said. Aww. "He told me that she should be my mom" she said. He really does love my mom. "Well do you want a new mom?" I asked. She nodded quickly. Damn. "My mom is mean. She's mean to Chester and Evelyn" she said angrily.

Oh my god.

"What about Gemma?" I asked confused. "She's not always here. She has to go to school" she said. That's soo sad. "Oh ok. I think you might be able to come to me and my mom's house" I said. Autumn smiled big. She got up and screamed "YAY!!!" "Calm down. I'm not sure yet but if you are I'll show you my room and I'll let you play video games" I said. She just kept jumping up and down excitedly. That's when I heard the screaming down stairs.

Shit.

Autumn ran to her bed. Oh no. She probably has trauma because of her mom. I walked over to her bed and sat down. She flinched slightly. "Hey it's alright" I said sweetly. "No I don't want my mom to hurt my dad" she said crying. "Come see" I said. She crawled into my laps and I hugged her. I pulled out my phone. I didn't know what else to do. I just went to my photos. "Do you wanna see some pictures?" I asked. She nodded. I went to the pictures of me and family, and Richie. Thankfully Autumn got distracted by me talking about my mom.

Eventually the yelling downstairs stopped. I heard footsteps approaching the room. I didn't want to scare Autumn so I just hugged her closer to me. "Salem you can come out now" I heard someone say. I turned around and it was Gemma? "Alright" I said. I held Autumn's hand and brought her downstairs. That was a big mistake. I saw a lady walk back into the house. She saw me and walked towards me with anger. Oh god.

I'm gonna fucking die.

"Mom if you fucking touch him I won't hesitate to fucking kill you!" Luis screamed at the lady. Fuck fuck fuck. I froze where is was. I couldn't move. I just stared at Luis. What if Luis wasn't here to stop her? What would she have done to me? I know I'm over reacting but I'm too scared to think straight. I didn't want to speak because I was too afraid. But I was scared if I stayed quiet something would happen. I just gave Luis the 'please help' look. Thankfully he caught on to what I was trying to express.

"Mom leave my fucking house right now. If you lay a finger on my son I will fuck you up soo much" he said. The lady turned around to look at Luis. She then spat "you know what. Get a divorce with your wife. You can be with that wretch. Just know I will never look at that faggot as my grandson" "that's funny considering he will never looks at you as a grandmother. And I will never look at you as a mother ever again" he said.

Holy shit.

Finally his mom left and he ran over to me and Autumn. I was soo shocked and scared I didn't even notice Autumn was crying. Luis quickly picked up Autumn. "Hey baby it's ok. Everything is gonna be fine" he said. He leaned over and gave me a side hug. I felt him kiss the top of my head. No it's not weird. He's my dad. It's just better when my mom does it. I love my mom. I'm a mama's boy. Obviously.

After a few hours of being at Luis's house my mom came back. I was happy to see her. I instantly gave her a hug. "Hey Allyson would you and Salem maybe wanna sleep here?" Luis asked. My mom looked shocked. She sighed and said "well Salem has school tomorrow and I have work. But Salem can definitely come on the weekend" "that's fine. Autumn loves hanging out with him" Luis said. Aww. I wonder why he didn't tell my mom about the divorce. Well it didn't happen yet but it will. I think my mom should know.

Me and my mom left after saying goodbye to everyone. We got in my moms car and my mom looked happy. "Did you have fun?" She asked. I nodded. "Good" she said as she started the car. "Mom did Luis mention anything about getting a divorce with his wife?" I asked once we took off. I saw her eyes go wide. She looked at me and said "Uh no" "oh god. Listen you can't be mad but I kind of convinced him that if he acts like the bad person in him and his wife's relationship then he probably will have a bigger chance at successfully getting a divorce" I said quickly.

My mom just started laughing.

"Salem you are terrible!" she exclaimed. I didn't know how to react. "At least he can be happy" she said quietly. Without thinking I said "yea with you. Mom he's still in love with you. Autumn said so. First of she said the Luis told her that you should be her mom and second he has a picture of you in his truck. That's what Autumn told me" "oh" my mom said sadly. Shit. Did I fuck up? "Is that bad? Did you move on?" I asked. She just shook her head. "I just didn't know he still felt that way about me. If I'm being honest. I never moved on" she said. Aww. That's soo sweet.

Me and my mom got home and I instantly went take a shower. After my shower I quickly went kiss my mom goodnight. Because you know. I love her. Anyways. I walked back to my room and got in bed. Im gonna have to tell Richie soo much shit tomorrow.
