Chapter 16

Devland's POV
I've been at Ryan's house for a while and I'm ready to go. "Hey Ryan I'm gonna go back home if that's ok" I said. Ryan looked at me and smiled. "That's fine. Do you need me to walk you home?" He asked. I was about to decline but after what happened this morning I nodded. "Ok. Let me get ready" he said and went over to his closet. I was slipping my jacket back on when I heard Ryan sit down on his bed. When I turned around he had his shoes on. Damn he gets ready quick. He stood up and looked at me. "Ready?" He asked. "Yep" I said. He smiled and grabbed my hand as we walked out the door.

Time skip to when Devland is back at his house~

I got back to my house and heard arguing. Shit. I walked in and went to the kitchen. My mom and Mr. Brian were screaming at each other. My mom turned to me and I could tell she was beyond pissed. "Where the fuck were you?" She screamed at me. "U-uh I was at Ryan's house" I said stuttering a bit. She walked towards me angrily and slapped me across the face. Really hard. She never hit me that hard. That's when I saw Mr. Brian's face change to anger. "What the fuck is wrong with you? You can't just beat him because he went to his friends house. He just a kid. Also I told him he could go" he screamed at my mom. My mom had a look of regret. Mr. Brian walked over to me and put his arm around me. Next thing I know he's walking me to his room.

Brian's POV
I can't believe she did that to Devland. I brought him my room and looked at him. "Are you alright?" I asked examining his face. He nodded softly. "I'm sorry Devland I didn't know this would happen" I said. I saw tears start to come down his face. I didn't know what to do so I hugged him. He hugged back tightly. "It's gonna be alright" I whispered softly. That's when Crimson came in. "Daddy what happened to Devland?" She asked sadly. She really cares about him. "His mom hurt him" I said. I heard Crimson gasp. She walked over to Devland and gave him a hug. I saw Devland smile at her and run a hand through her hair.

"Oh Devland I forgot to say this but me and Crimson were gonna go to the movies and we wanted to know if you wanted to come" I said. Devland looked unsure but said "I guess" "Alright. We'll be leaving at 2:00 and it's 12:30 we still have a bit of time" I said. Devland nodded. "Well I'll be in my room and I can keep track of the time. So if you guys happen to need me I'll be in there" he said and walked out. I feel soo bad for him. He probably gets beat everyday. I'm gonna have to talk to his mom about this.

Devland's POV
I went to my room and laid down on my bed. My cheek feels hot and it still hurts. Tears are still streaming down my face. Why do I always cry about this? God I'm soo stupid. I grabbed my phone and decided to text Ryan.

R=Ryan

D:  Hey.
R:  Hey. Is something wrong?
D:  Well my mom got mad because I went to your house and her and Mr. Brian were fighting when I got back. And my mom slapped me but Mr. Brian got mad and brought me to their room to talk to me and now I'm going to the movies with him.
R:  Damn. Are you ok?
D:  I think I'm alright but I'm just scared.
R:  Well if you need to talk to me you can anytime.
D:  I know. Thanks for letting me stay at your house.
R:  No problem.
D:  I gotta go. I'll talk to you later though.
R:  Alright bye.
D:  Bye bye.

I turned my tv on and went to Netflix. I was looking for something to watch when Mr. Brian came in. "Hey Devland. I decided that we're not gonna go to the movies because there's nothing good playing so I wanted to know if you don't mind going to a restaurant" he said. "That's fine" I said. Mr. Brian then smiled and walked out. Right when my door closed Crimson opened it. "Hey Devland" she said. "Hey. Did you come in here because you were bored?" I asked. She nodded. I smiled and said "well come see. We can watch something together" "ok" she said happily.

Time skip to when they're driving to the restaurant~

We were driving to the restaurant and I'm still wearing my pink skirt but I put on one of my kitty jackets. It was blue and had cat ears on it. I did put some long socks on just incase I got cold. Like what happened at Ryan's house. But anyways right now I have my earbuds in and I'm listening to Ribcage by Andy Black. Damn I love this song.
