Chapter 29

Devland's POV
I got up and felt sick. I didn't want to go to school at all. Im soo scared. I had wasted a whole Sunday doing nothing but sitting in my room. I laid there in my bed for a few minutes. Just staring up at the ceiling. I can't go to school. I've been crying all night and only slept for a few hours. "Devland you can't keep going on like this" Alec said. "What is there to do?" I asked. He just sighed. "I can't see this happen to another person I care about!" He screamed. I heard him sigh. "I'm sorry. I just- I can't- I'm gonna go" he said. Before I could protest he was gone. Oh god. Now everything is gonna be worse.

I got up and went to the bathroom. I looked like shit. I went to my dads room to get him but he wasn't there. It was just Joey. "Oh good morning Dev" he said. "Where's my dad?" I asked. He walked over to me. I just noticed that Crimson was still asleep in their bed. "Um your dad had to leave last night. He had to go on a business trip. And listen I know you don't like me. I just wanted you to know that you don't have to consider me a part of your family. It's ok really. I mean- I completely understand" he said cautiously.

That hit something in me. I burst into tears and just hugged Joey. "Dev what's wrong?" He asked worriedly. I felt soo bad. I felt like the worst person ever. I couldn't even speak. "Hey it's alright I promise" he said, lifting my head up. "No it's not. I don't hate you. I really do see you as family. I'm soo sorry" I said. I couldn't really find the words that I wanted to say. But that's what came out. He hugged me tighter. "It's gonna be ok. Now go get ready for school. I have something to help with that swelling" he said with a smile. He ruffled my hair and I walked off.

I ate breakfast and left my house. Thankfully my dad left his car and took his truck. I stopped at the gas station. "Hey Dev. I got your monster right here. I felt like you were in a watermelon mood today" the cashier said. "I am" I said swiping my card. I got back into my car after getting my monster. I opened it and took a sip then started the car. Not having Alec in the car is boring. I wish I wasn't such a bitch. I don't even know why I'm acting like this. I'm just mad at myself. It's ok. If you act normal maybe nothing will happen.

Right?

Dominic's POV
I saw Devland pull up into the spot next to my car. I saw him quickly get out, lock his car, and run to mine. He opened the back door and got in. "Hey Dev, how are you doing?" Maya asked. "More or less" he said. I could tell he was nervous. He makes it obvious without knowing. We sat in silence for a while. Until I decided to break it by asking "Hey what flavor you got?" "Um watermelon. Wanna sip?" He asked. I nodded and grabbed the can. I took a sip and handed it back to him. It was interesting. "Want some?" He offered Maya. She shook her head. "I don't really like energy drinks" she said. Aww.

Time skip~

So Devland is not doing ok. Of course everyone knows about... you know. Anyways. I've been protecting him all day because I don't want anyone hurting him. We were at lunch and I could hear every word from the people passing by. I could see the anger on Lily's face. It was funny to say the least. "Dom" Devland whispered. I looked down at him and saw his eyes tearing up. "What's wrong? Do you need my jacket?" I offered. He shook his head furiously. I couldn't figure out what he wanted.

"Hey guys" I heard someone say beside us. It was a masculine voice. I turned around getting ready to fight just incase it was someone that was gonna make fun of Dev. It was Tom. "What do you want?" I asked. "Woah calm down. I'm not gonna make fun of him. Promise. I just wanna talk to him" he said sweetly. I'm not that easy to fool. "You must think I'm stupid" I said staring him down. "No I'm serious. I really want to talk to him" he said. He sounded serious but I didn't trust the smile on his face so I looked at Dev. Dev just shook his head while still looking down.

Devland's POV
I heard Dominic telling Tom to leave us alone. Of course Tom being Tom he insisted that he stay. Dom eventually got really mad. "Dude get away!" He screamed. I knew everyone was looking at us. I picked my head up and a few people were looking at us. I got up and grabbed Dom's hand. "Are you done eating?" I asked. He nodded. "Good" was all I said. I grabbed our plates and threw them away. I just brought him to the bathroom. I felt like I had to throw up. "Wait here" I said leaving him by the sinks. I walked into one of the stalls and bent over the toilet. I felt everything I ate for breakfast come up my throat.

Time skip~

I got home from school and laid down on the couch next to Joey. I couldn't stop crying. "Dev is there something you need to talk about?" He asked. "Promise you won't get mad?" I asked sitting up. He nodded. I could see in his eyes that he was serious. "So I went to this party with my friends and I knew I shouldn't have gone but I did because I wanted to hang out with my friends. But pretty much something happened. And I ended up playing spin the bottle. But it wasn't kissing" I said nervously.

Joey had a slight smirk. "You know that's how me and your dad hooked up?" He said mischievously. I felt awkward and Joey quickly apologized. "Sorry. Continue" he said. "Well anyways pretty much me and this girl we're supposed to you know... and I said that I was gay without thinking and she told everyone at school and..." I couldn't speak anymore. I burst into tears. "Oh Dev. It's gonna be ok. It's gonna be ok" he repeated. I hugged him tight. He looked down and said "how about you go take a shower and get some sleep. I'll go talk to your dad about it" "ok" I said.

With that I got up to go shower.
