Chapter 25

Devland's POV
After moving to Colorado everything has gotten better and worse. My life has gotten better because Brian ended up adopting me. But ever since I came to Colorado Alec keeps disappearing. I keep trying to get him back but he won't come back. I don't know what's wrong. Maybe it's because I've been hanging out with a lot of friends. Yes I started making friends since I moved here. Not like a lot of friends just a few.

Right now I'm sitting on my bed. I don't know what to do. I'm bored. Usually I would talk to Alec but you know he's not here for some reason. I sat up in bed and grabbed my phone. I walked downstairs. Joey and Crimson were watching a movie on the couch. "Hey Dev" I heard someone whisper. I looked at Joey but he was looking at the tv. When I turned my head back around Alec was right in front of me. I jumped slightly. "Come with me outside I need to talk to you" he said. I just nodded and followed him outside.

I sat down on the swing we had. "Where have you been?" I asked worriedly. "Ok listen I had to renew my time with you. So pretty much usually we only have a certain time with a human. Pretty much I had to get the time renewed and everything. It's complicated but everything is figured out now. So we're all good" he said with a smile. "Now. I'm famished. Got any honey or something. Doesn't your dad have like that wine or something?" He asked. I sighed and said "yea. We don't have honey. I'll get you some wine" "nice. Thanks" he said. I just nodded.

I brought Alec inside. I grabbed a glass cup and the bottle of wine. I looked around to see if anyone was watching. No one. Perfect. I poured some of the wine in the cup. I put the cork back on the bottle and put it in the cabinet. "Woah woah woah. What are you doing with that? You can't drink that" My dad said. Shit. "Um. It's not for me. It's for my friend" I said. My dad grabbed the cup and said "no I'm not going to jail. If someone finds out I bought this wine and an underage kid drank it. I'm going to jail". I jerked the cup back from my dad. "Relax. He's not underage" I said and walked away.

I walked back outside and handed the cup to Alec. He drank it and smiled. "Thanks" he said happily. "No problem. I'll try to get you some honey soon. I don't want you drinking all of my dad's fancy wine" I said. Alec nodded and said "I know. I don't make the rules though. I never told you that there are other things I can eat. Other than wine and honey" "oh really. Like what?" I asked. "Like chocolate, uh fruit and some other like kind of fancy stuff. But usually honey and wine helps more" he said. I just nodded. "Well I'm gonna go to the store today so right down everything you need" I said. I walked back inside and grabbed a piece of paper and a pencil and hand it to him. He started writing stuff down on the paper.

I walked into the living room. Joey was still there with Crimson. "Hey Joey. I'm gonna go to the store in a bit. Do we need anything?" I asked. He seemed kind of sad. Did something happen between him and my dad? "Um I'm not sure. You're gonna have to ask your dad about that" he said. I just nodded and walked upstairs. I went into my dad's room but he wasn't there. He's probably in his office. I walked across the hallway and into his office. He was there on his computer. "Hey Dev. I need to talk to you. Come sit down" he said.

Shit. I'm in trouble. I already know it. Hopefully it's not about Alec. "Hey listen. You know Joey feels bad about you calling him by his name" he said. But it was more of a questioning tone. That's it? "What do you mean?" I asked. He sighed and said "well he's part of the family now. I mean when I started dating your mom I-" "don't call the lady my mom. She never was my mom and never will be. I only warmed up to you because I never had anyone show that kind of love to me" I said. My dad looked at me in shock.

Brian's POV
As Devland screamed that stuff at me I went silent. I don't know what the fuck just came out of him. He's never screamed like that. "I'm sorry Dev" was all I said. I honestly thought he had a boyfriend back in Vegas. Or something like that. "I don't care. I just came to ask if we need anything. I'm going to the store" he said angrily. I just sighed and said "there's a list on the fridge if you don't mind getting that" "ok" was all he said. He then walked out of the room. I swear he can be difficult at times. I love him to death but when he gets mad he stays mad. I might need to sign him up for anger therapy or something.

Devland's POV
I grabbed the list off of the fridge and walked outside. I got into my dad's car and started it. "You forgot to grab my list" Alec said. He was sitting down in the passenger seat. I just grabbed his list. "What would you do without me?" He said with a chuckle. "Probably kill myself" was all I said. I started driving to the store. "Hey calm down. Remember how road rage starts? It's all anger" Alec said. I took a deep breath in and out. "Good" was all he said.
We got to the store and walked inside. I'm gonna get the stuff my dad needs first. I mean it's only a few things. So I'll be done quick.

After getting my dads stuff I walked into the isle that had honey and stuff like that. "Ok. Where is the honey you like? I don't see it" I said. Alec reached his hand behind the other jars of honey. I saw him pull out the one he likes from the back. "They always hide the good stuff in the back" he said. I just smiled at him. We started walking to the other side of the store when someone stopped me. "Hey Devland" I heard a girl say. I turned around and it was one of my friends. "Hi Lily" I said with a smile. "I didn't think I would see you here. But I guess since you're here I wanted to ask if you want to come to my party this weekend?" She asked. "Uh sure" I said.

Me a Lily talked for a while and then I left. After paying of course. I got into my dad's car and left the store. "Hand me my sprite" I said to Alec. "Ok. Woah they make sprite cranberry?" He asked. He's soo fucking dumb. I chuckled and said "uh yea dummy" "I never knew that. But what I do know is that you can seriously just make it at home. In the 90s I used to do it. Of course with a bit of vodka" he said. "Alright. I know you're old. You don't have to rub it in my face" I said with a chuckle. "I'm not old. I died when I was like in my 30s. Look at me. I still look young and sexy" he said. Oh my god. He's is ridiculous. I just let out a small chuckle.

Eventually I got home. I put the groceries up and grabbed the honey. I got a spoon out of our drawer and scooped some of the honey out of the jar. "Here" I said holding the spoon out to Alec. "YEEEEEESSSSSS" he said excitedly. I watched as he ate the honey. He seems really happy. I didn't say anything because I like it when's he's happy. It makes me feel nice. After Alec ate I went upstairs to my room. Joey was in there. "Um..." I said to get his attention. "Oh I'm sorry Devland. I wanted to talk to you and I didn't know when you would get home. I just wanted to tell you Uh Goodnight" he said. Liar. "Ok. Goodnight" I said. He walked out and I got in bed. I fell asleep soon after that.
