Chapter 8

I wake up to Don making some healthy breakfast and see a pile of new clothes laying aside me and smile. As I try them on his wife came from the hallway and said in surprise, " Well look who is ready for their first day in school since a couple years ago." I smile and go to the kitchen table to be served scrambled eggs with salsa and veggies and start digging in and feel my mouth filling up with saliva as his food makes fireworks happen on my taste buds. I finish within seconds and turn around to see Don's daughter carrying a new backpack with new utensils in it. She waddles her way over to me and says in a adorable voice, " Here you go Mr. Alan." I say awe as I pat her head and say, " Nice try sweetie." And get in Don's car to be taken to my new school. As Don gets in he looks at me for a brief moment and says, " Don't you have super speed or something? Why take my slow car?" I look him straight in the eyes and say, " Well when I run my metabolism works real fast and makes me feel painfully hungry, plus I didn't want any problems on my first day back to school." He nods in agreement and backs out the driveway. It takes about ten minutes to get there and as he parks in a teacher reserved area as I stare at the front door with students of all ages going in and out until Don calls me and takes me to his classroom which is on the bottom floor by the lunchroom. As he tours me around the school I take a break and get a drink from the water fountain by the bathrooms and my eye catches a girl coming out the bathroom, but it was no ordinary girl, it was the most beautiful girl I have ever laid my eyes on as I see her feeling around the walls with her finger tips. She senses me heavily breathing and turns her head over her shoulder asking, " Excuse me guy can you show me where the water fountain is?" I quickly stand up super nervously and reply with a shaky voice, " Yeah sure, it is right here... why ask?" She reaches out her hand to me as I pull her towards the fountain and she takes a sip then replies, " Well if you havn't noticed for the past couple months I am blind." I freeze in shock as I apologize and say, " I'm so sorry for asking, I am new here and got kinda lost." She opens her mouth and says, " No I am sorry, I shouldn't have snapped like that, so what is your name?" I say as firmly as I could, " Alize, Alize Maldonado. And you?" She quickly replies while twirling her hair, " My name is Catalina Castello, I am in the 10th grade." I get kinda use to her presence and say that I am too. She then asks me a question, " Sorry if I am bothering you but do you see my friend Valine? She said she was wearing a yellow shirt today." I look around and see the girl who looks a bit tanned but staring at the vending machine choosing what to buy as I call out, " Valine! Catalina needs you!" She turns her head and hurries down to us and says, " Sorry to keep you waiting Catalina." Catalina nods and replies, " It is alright Valine besides I met a new friend, his name is Alize." Valine smiles and shakes my hand while she looks at her phone and says in a hurry, " Ay dios mios! Let's hurry to class C! We will be late!" Catalina feels around for me and puts her hand on my face then my cheek and rubs it then says as a farewell, " I hope to have you in a class Alize." She starts blushing and gets pulled away to her next class, I just stand there all red and excited that I made friends with a beautiful young lady. But I don't get to stand there forever as Don pats my back and says, " I see you already made a friend, let's get you to your first class i'll tell the teacher you are new." We walk down the hallway up some stairs and arrive in a class room with teens chatting with each other and laughing until they see me come in. I get nervous again and see the teacher and walk up to him, "Um hello my name is Alize Maldonado and I am a new student here." He stands up and shakes my hand then says, " Nice name, James Clark but just call me Mr.Clark." He tells me to sit anywhere I want as I try to find a open spot until Don tells me to sit next to a kid waving his arms in the air at me and I do. " Hi my name is Carlos! I am the one who got you into the school, I am interested in joining your team!" He smiles and I nod my head then reply, " Well thanks Carlos, hope to see you at the meeting at Don's house. Don't forget to bring what you need to prove you can take the heat alright?" He nods in excitement as Mr.Clark announces that class has started, we read for a bit and I head to My lunch all drained out from his class. I grab a taco and walk around trying to find a seat to sit at until I hear a female voice call my name. " Hey Alize over here!" I turn to see a table full of girls and a couple of guys with Catalina. I walk up and say my greetings as everyone nods back until Catalina says, " Hi Alize! Miss me? Sit here." She scootches over and I sit next to her blushing as we all enjoy our lunch. Catalina is kinda pale but has brown eyes that make me smile every time." Her skin is so smooth and has white teeth that make me feel embarrassed. We just talk about how our day was and the bell rings as she asks what class I go to next. " I go to Mr. Reynolds." Before I could ask anything she quickly says, " Oh my gosh me too!" As I lead her to his class and sit down next to her.
