Chapter 9

Don is setting up his classroom and notices me and Catalina talking to each other, then comes over to us and says, " Hey you two, I am going to give everyone a specific seat to sit at." Catalina looks at him and says, " Oh man Mr. Reynold's can't I sit by Alize? Please!" He then looks at me as I nod yes so I could spend time with my new crush as he says, " Alright you two I will let you both be by each other since I see that you are both good students. When everyone comes in I want you all too write a specific detail you want the class to know about you." We both say okay until I realize that she is blind and taking a math class and say questionably, " Wait, if you are blind then how are you going to do your work?" She then looks at me with a serious expression and asks me, " Can I tell you something that is crazy?" I get a little unnerved as I say go ahead. " Apparently a couple months back I was walking my dog Pickles and I could see just as fine as you, until a explosion happened when I was across the street from the newly built power plant and it blew me at a wall... then killed Pickles. I woke up the next day wondering why I could only see white until a doctor told me the bad news, that I was permanently blind from some type of toxin that got in my eye. For the past couple weeks I was trying to adapt to how I am going to live the rest of my life until I started paying attention to the whiteness and could do this weird switch feeling in my body to see everything in a weird vibration way, like how I could see you in your black t-shirt but in a vibrating type of way. I  am still trying to get use to this weird ability and you are the only person I told about it because you were the most accepting person that seemed like they actually cared for me without knowing I was blind yet. So do you believe me?" I am astonished by how many people were effected by that explosion, which I caused, and cost her her vision. Tears started to stream down my face as she looks me in the eyes and wipes my tears away, she is tearing too since she could not see anymore and the loss of her best friend Pickles made her go into nostalgia. As I pull her in for a hug she embraces me and starts to cry over my shoulder, which made me only suffer more since I knew what I had to tell her, " Catalina, I... I was the one who caused that explosion, I was fighting some guy and got pushed into a radioactive barrel of goop that may have made some cords go loose and shoot a bolt of electricity at me causing the place to explode. I woke up a couple days ago from the hospital and realized that I had superhuman abilities like super speed, a weird beam of light that shoots out my hand and could go through metal, and possibly even more. I am so sorry Catalina that I caused you so much pain and..." Then out the blue she started to kiss me and I shutted up confused as to why she would do this but I forgot about everything as the feeling I had was so refreshing since it was my very first kiss, and she was so beautiful which made it seem more better until she slowly backed up and put her hand over the left side of my chest and seemed alarmed when she said, " Oh my, Alize your heart is going way too fast!" I realize what she is talking about until I hold both her hands and tell her that's normal and realize that everybody was staring at us and that class started a bit ago. I tell her that we have to listen to Don as he gave his speech of what he expects from us this year and that he is honored to have such great students until I get an idea and a question, " Psst, Catalina, I want to know if you were interested in coming over my house tomorrow, not for anything wrong just so I could explain some stuff that you may need to know about what I am doing, plus... I wanted to know if you and I were um..." She turns her head towards me and whispers, " Alize... I don't really know if I could date for a while because I am going through so much and I needed comfort so i kissed you but that was by accident, sorry if you got the wrong idea.." I sit back with my eyes wide open and start to feel regret about liking someone who looked way better then I did. We sat in silence for the rest of the class until a alarm went off and Mr. Reynolds went out the door to see what was happening and hurried back into the class and locked the door behind him. I feel heavy vibrations and feel unusual temperatures everywhere and realize what is going on, I get up but Catalina grabs my arm and tells me to sit down before the people fighting see me. I am confused of how she knows who are fighting but tell her, " Don't worry, I'll be fine. " and  see everyone running into the closet so they didn't get hurt by what they though was an earthquake. I look at Don and nod as I took off my clothes showing off my body and letting the green glop quickly come out my pours and let it cover up my body. As my mask covers my face I pick up Catalina like a princess and take her to the windowless corner with Don as he promises that he will keep her safe from them and said, " Take them down." I smile and zoom out the door heading towards the quickly changing temperatures and see my target Bricklee fighting that ice covered guy fighting in the streets by west.
