With the first sets of rounds over and done with, we moved up to quarter finals and the first match that was gonna be held was between Youmu and Reimu which started soon after they got on the ring.
Youmu not wasting a second like last time, rushed at Reimu with the full intention of landing her strongest attack as early as possible.
"Human Oni "Slash of the Eternal Future"!" Youmu said as she swung her katana close to the ground which Reimu reacted to just in time by putting 1 of her hands on the ground while holding a single ofuda before announcing her own counter attack.
"Dream Sign "Evil-Sealing Circle"!" Reimu exclaimed as a large pillar shaped barrier made from bright blue light formed around her shielding her and blocking Youmu's attack the moment her sword came in contact with the barrier.
Reimu not wanting to waste a moment, jumped out of the barrier the moment Youmu's sword was repelled away from the barrier and she began throwing needles at Youmu which were all landing and stabbing into Youmu knocking her back in the process.
Youmu's movements seemed to now be severally limited thanks to the needles being stuck deep onto her body and I can only imagine the pain she's feeling while moving around with needles digging into her.
"It's always all or nothing with you isn't it?" Youmu spoke as she started ripping the needles out of herself.
"I just want to get this over with so stop stalling and let's end this already." Reimu responded as she pointed her gohei at Youmu who was now positioning herself in a defensive manner after removing the remaining needles.
"Soul Sign "Wheel of Pain of the Living and Dead"!" Youmu shouted as the cloud that was flying around her started to take shape before completely forming into a shadow replica of Youmu who then jumped at Reimu with her shadow counterpart following soon after and now Reimu had to fight 2 opponents at once which I'm not sure would be usually allowed in a tournament but if magic is allowed then I guess so is having some kind of help.
Marisa:"I never knew that she could turn her spirit half into a clone, I wonder how Reimu is gonna handle this, ze."
Y/N:"Hold on that cloud's her spirit?"
Honestly this kinda makes more sense than thinking that it was cloud that just happen to be able shoot bullets and form into a clone of Youmu.
Reimu started avoiding getting hit as both Youmu and her clone counterpart which mimicked everything Youmu did though there was a one second delay whenever it mimicked her and soon both started swinging away at Reimu and each swing getting faster and faster which forced Reimu to loose more and more ground until she was 1 step away from getting knocked off the ring to which she quickly reacted by flying up above Youmu and into the sky before announcing her next move.
"Treasure Sign "Yin-Yang Treasured Orb"!" Reimu said as her words were followed with a black and white ying yang orb forming in front of her that started free falling down towards the ring and straight towards Youmu who didn't seem phased by it in the slightest as she stood there. Youmu then took some kind of stance and prepared her katana with the intention to slice the orb in half and once it was in her reach both her and her shadow clone charged towards it and shot their blades at it and tried to cut it in half which seemed to be working as the ying yang orb started to crack more and more with each second as Youmu's katana started digging into it and Reimu took note of that as she prepared another attack while Youmu was occupied.
"Holy Relic "Yin-Yang Kishin Orb"!" Another ying yang orb formed in front of Reimu as she spoke those words and the immediate difference between this ying yang orb and the other one was that this one was three times bigger than the previous one and soon the orb dropped and started free falling down to the ring where Youmu was without giving her the time needed to react since she was to busy slicing through the smaller ying yang orb which meant she wasn't able to notice the larger orb falling down to her.
