23. Land of the Backdoors

A day had past since my escape from the moon and not much had changed. I had yet to meet Reimu or anyone else let alone explain to them what exactly went down on the night that I disappeared though I first had to find them which could wait a bit since winter just began and the weather was already terrible from how cold it was. 

There was also the issue of my job that I got a day or two before I met Tenshi. I was pretty much in deep trouble for failing to attend an important meeting on the day that I was kidnapped and I seriously doubt that they would have believed me if I told them that I was abducted and brought to the moon to become some kind of pet super soldier. Gladly for me, I was given a second chance but that second chance came with a catch to it. I was demoted to being a delivery boy because the previous person that worked as the delivery boy was attacked by youkai while out delivering a package to a temple located near the village so I was forced to be the next delivery boy. Though this wasn't exactly a demotion since my pay was somewhat increased, the fact that I could be attacked by wild youkai while out delivering packages made it all too risky to be even considered a promotion of any sort.

Moving on from that whole fiasco and onto today, I was on my way to deliver the final package of the day to it's destination which was a old run down house at the edge of the village thankfully so I didn't have to worry about youkai attacks any time soon.

Once I was near the location, it didn't take much to spot the rundown house since it stuck out like a sore thumb thanks to it being the only destroyed building on the street as all of the buildings around it appeared to be in way better condition.

The house itself looked like it survived a bombing so it was hard for me to believe that anyone could be living inside. The front door on the other hand appeared to be in pristine condition which made it look like it didn't belong there to begin with.

Approaching the door, I began knocking on the door with the package in my hand, waiting for someone to answer the door and sure enough, not even a moment later the door swung open with 2 girls standing on the other side of the door. Their outfits appeared to be oddly stylish and looked similar to each other though one was pink while the other one was green. one of girls had light ginger hair, cut short with two long side locks, and purple eyes and held some kind of stick with leaves on it while the other had reseda green hair, cut short with two long side locks, and bright green colored eyes and a bamboo in her hand.

???:"See, I told you that he'd be promoted to work as a delivery boy if we attack the previous one."

???:"Alright, so what did master want us to do with him once he arrived? Knock him out with a bat and drag him to her?"

???:"NO but I will knock you out with a bat if you don't start listening to what master tells us to do next time."

???:"Right right, sorry."

???:"Anyways, Master said she wanted to have word with him AND tasked us to bring him with us peacefully so that he will be cooperative once we present him to master so if you break the peace then I'll break your knees. Understood Mai?"

???:"Sheesh, don't you think your taking this too seriously, Satono?"

???:"Not at all. If it's for the sake of our master then I'll do my best and so should you!"

Not sure what I was listening to exactly but I have better things to do than to wait and listen to them talk so I might as well make this quick and get out of here.

Y/N:"Sorry to interrupt but did any of you order a package?"

???:"Oh right, we nearly forgot about him."

Both girls then turned to me once they were done to which I handed them the package before preparing to leave, just to be stopped at the last moment.
