26. Masked motives

An hour has passed since I faced off against Sagume and I felt better than ever. All the worries I had were gone without a trace remaining but I had yet to actually see if that feeling was real or not.

Arriving at the Hakurei shrine once again I walked up the long flight of stairs as I prepared myself to explain the situation to Reimu first before explaining it to Marisa since I felt like this would be a simpler way of doing things seeing as I had no clue where Marisa really was outside of her telling me that she was going to some tea party.

Arriving at the top, I was met with the vacant shrine, not a single soul in sight so I suppose the explanation would have to wait a little while which in turn gave me some time to think through carefully what I was going to say.

"hmm... Reimu there's something I need to apologize for... No that sounds dumb." I said to myself as I thought to myself of something sincere, I wanted it come straight from the heart to show how sorry I truly was but that's better said than done with everything that has happened today.

"How about you try to date both of them? I'm certain that will make things interesting for me at least anyways." A voice said behind me which I didn't fully register due to me being lost in thought.

"What, no way... WAIT WHAT!" I muddled as I quickly sprung around to face the voice once my mind finally cupped on to the current situation. Once I turned to face the voice, I saw a gap opened in front of me though Yukari didn't appear to be coming out of it.

"I must say, you certainly know how to entertain me with the unusual situations that you seem to find yourself in." Yukari's voice echoed from inside of the gap.

"What do you want from me now?" I asked as I slowly backed away from the gap. My encounter with Yukari in the land of the backdoor reignited a feeling of dread which emanated from Yukari and I wasn't sure sure what was causing me to start feeling it since I couldn't put my finger on what was causing me to feel it so suddenly but my best bet is form what Okina told me about Yukari or if it was the unknown reasoning for why she stalked me.

"Why the need to get closer?" Yukari asked, mildly confusing me as I looked behind me to see what she was talking about and much to my surprise, she herself was standing there which made me jump back ever so slightly, nearly falling in the process.

Yukari:"My, toying with you in person really is a lot more fun than watching others do it for me."

Y/N:"..."

Yukari:"Oh don't give me such a hard look, I simply came to talk."

Y/N:"Talk? I'm having problems believing that."

Yukari:"Think what you may but I just to inform you that Reimu is going to be away for a little while longer than you might expect."

Y/N:"So she won't be back any time soon?"

Yukari:"Perhaps but I can't say for how long. Maybe multiple hours or perhaps just a single hour or maybe even less than an hour?" 

Y/N:"And why are you telling me this exactly?"

"You really have some nerve talking back to me like that, I simply answered your question is all." Yukari pouted while I simply watched with a expression that represented my skepticism towards her sudden kindness.

Y/N:"Right, right, sorry but I'm still having problems believing that all you came here just talk."

Yukari:"My, cutting to the chase already? You really do remind me of that shrine maiden sometimes but that's to be expected seeing as you two appear to be suited well with one another."
