[Day Twelve]

Bdubs awoke to kisses on his forehead. He scrunched his face before blinking his eyes open. Doc was leaning over him with a small smile. Sighing, he reached his arms up and held his face.

"Mornin' Your Highness," he mumbled with a grin. "Why're you up so early?"

"Well ah, I don't know how appropriate it would be to find us both in the same room despite me being given a completely different one, so I'm heading back to mine," Doc quietly explained.

Nodding, he pulled him down to press a kiss to his nose. "Alright, do you know how to get back?"

The hybrid nodded, kissing his forehead once more before pulling away. He covered his mouth with the back of his hand and yawned, closing his eyes. "Go back to sleep," the cyborg whispered before the weight shifted on the bed.

Bdubs opened his eyes for a moment and saw the door close. With a goofy grin, he rolled over and drifted back off.

-

The two princes were having tea with the kings and Beef at the same place where they had their first lunch. King Cub and Bdubs had gotten up to run the prince through some magical training.

Doc held his teacup to his lips as his eyes were trained to the prince's face.

He was so... focused and serious, and he could see the beads of sweat trickling down his face, passing over his freckles. The sleeves of his black blouse were folded up to sit above his elbows and his white skirt was moving as elegantly as he was, floating above his knees.

Once King Scar had gotten up to help out, Beef turned to him. "So, it's safe to assume things have worked out, yes?" He asked.

After a small sip of tea, Doc gently placed it down, his eyes not leaving the prince. "Yes, things have... worked out," he slowly and quietly echoed. His eyes drifted to the bracelet on Bdubs' wrist which matched his own. He couldn't prevent the smile that formed on his face.

"How'd you like the Magical Wood?" Beef innocently asked, catching him completely off guard.

"I-I'm sorry?" Peeling his eyes off his betrothed, he just blinked at the noble.

In return, he giggled, leaning back in his seat. "I saw you two heading towards it last night. It's always pretty, but in my opinion, it looks far better at night."

Adjusting his posture and taking another sip of tea, he nodded. "Yes, it was very beautiful. I never imagined it'd feel that... alive."

"You also seemed very comfortable with Prince Bdubs last night," Beef quietly teased.

His face grew hot and he just stared at the table. "I don't- I have no idea what you're talking about," he lied, feeling utterly embarrassed.

The other royal just lightly laughed while he managed to compose himself. When he glanced up and over to Bdubs, he saw his blouse was mostly unbuttoned as he continued his fluid movements.

"Anyways, you've been speaking with Etho, no?" He decided it'd be best to change the subject, and distract himself from... him.

Beef nodded, followed by a sip of tea. "Yes uh, he's gotten me to use my phone more now," he sheepishly admitted.

-

Bdubs was able to spare the royals his age a glance and was pleased to find the two deep in conversation. He quickly switched his focus back to his lesson.

A mix of sparring practice whilst holding back from drawing energy from the woods was leaving him beyond exhausted. He didn't think he'd have to fight anyone for a while, it was still fun to try.

"Alright, now you may take a moment to recharge," Scar instructed.

Relaxing, he took a deep breath as his energy returned.

"You're doing very well!" His brunette father complimented. "We'll run through it all once more and then call it done for the day. How does that sound?"

He nodded. "Works for me."

"Ready?" Cub asked as the three moved into their stances. "And, begin."

-

Buttoning up his shirt and cleaning off his disgusting sweat with a simple spell, Bdubs finally sat back down at the table between Beef and Doc.

"So, you have yet to tell me how Oropolis was! See anything cool?" His friend asked, passing over a plate of tea sandwiches.

"Yes, it was very interesting! I'm sorry you couldn't make it."

"Well, there's not exactly a magical cure for Etherpix, now is there?" Beef laughed, shaking his head.

"Etherpix?" Doc echoed. "I thought only pixies could catch that."

Bdubs shrugged. "That's what we thought, but apparently it is very much contagious for people. It honestly just feels like a cold but your vision is practically gone."

"But yes, Oropolis. Which city did you visit?"

He tried to remember the name, but he wasn't exactly paying attention that day.

"Geon," the other prince explained. "Second most popular city followed by our capital. You know, if we have time to go back, I'm sure we can visit another with you and Etho this time."

The freckled brunette found much enjoyment in seeing a pink color rise in Beef's cheeks. "I think that'd be fun," he agreed.

"Oh, don't forget the dinner tomorrow night," King Cub chimed in. "I shouldn't have to remind you two that you're too old for your shenanigans."

Bdubs and Beef groaned in sync, leaning back in their seats. He knew Doc wouldn't understand, so he explained before he could ask. "The dinner tomorrow is with a family of essentially purple slimes. When Beef and I were little we used to pull these stupid pranks because we would be so bored."

"Their language requires speaking very slowly and saying something as simple as, 'How are you' takes an extra two phrases. Our languages do not translate well," Beef added.

After being lightly scolded by his fathers for complaining, the rest of the lunch was rather fun.

-

The two princes ended up spending the rest of the day in the library, quietly talking while they read different novels from Bdubs' favorite series. They didn't leave until the sun had begun to set and they realized it'd be time for dinner soon.

The shorter prince hesitated for a moment as he closed his book. "Um, would you want to stay in my room again tonight, or would you rather be in your own?" He nervously asked.

A kiss was pressed to his cheek causing a smile to grow on his face. "I think I'd like to stay one more night," Doc murmured as he snaked his arms around him. He closed his eyes as he leaned into his embrace, his smile becoming wider.

"Works for me," Bdubs whispered, turning his head to kiss his jaw. "Shall we head to the dining room?"

Taking a deep breath, his betrothed dropped his head into his shoulder. "In a minute."
